Defoe, 29, was one of several players recently mentioned by Warnock to Rangers owner Tony Fernandes as a possible option when the transfer window reopens. And the R’s boss has hinted that he has decided to make a formal offer for Defoe, who is struggling to secure a place in Spurs’ first team. “It would be remiss of me to talk about somebody who’s another person’s player,” said Warnock. “But it’s true to say there are names on that list. Yes we have to knock them off at times when we realise it’s beyond our means at this moment, but it doesn’t mean we can’t look at people like that, so we are looking at top players to try and bring in.” Warnock would like to sign at least one forward, while Rangers’ recent injury problems in defence have underlined their need for reinforcements elsewhere. Buzsaky’s place in QPR’s 25-man squad is under serious threat. He will meet with the club’s board next week to narrow down his list of possible targets and assess which of his current 25-man Premier League squad might not make the cut next time around. That could mean bad news for Akos Buzsaky, among others, ahead of the transfer window. “They [the signings] won’t all be top players, because we need four, five or even six players in January to supplement the squad,” Warnock explained. “We need at least two or three who can play in a couple of different positions so we’re not left short again as we have been in games like at Fulham, where we were short of options and it really backfired on us. “We’ll be talking more about it next week. I was involved in a conversion recently about football with two big wigs through work I met The co chairman of Palace along with my direct boss I suppose both of which seem to mix with the faces of football ... We bantered about football and the subject of rangers came up ... Quote you will will be fine as you have Bassong and Defoe in the bag come jan when I asked how they knew that I was told it came directly from TF I have not see them since and yes it was a 2 minute chat away from the work issue It's gossip of course and I rarely don't believe anything I hear and only half what I see but it happened and they seemed serious to me be interesting to see what happens ... I was also told that most players skirt with 606 as do the staff of all the clubs maybe no surprises . I am in Dubai next weekend and may get another opp to find out more info or high level gossip

I am no ITK please don't get me wrong but I was told what I was told ... These people live different lives but they both seemed to believe it themselves ... The general opinion about TF and QPR is that it's all exciting business ... Think about that long and hard because I mix at times with big business people through work and there are a lot of egos out there that the standard man in the street would never understand ... TF brilliant for QPR but watch and count how many times we are now in the spotlight it's the most powerful form of marketing out there ... Just logged on Cerny and I must say I have a good laugh about your thread and I will also say to some extent I hope you are right although I am still not convinced he right and is worth so much money as I have said 5 mil is a more realistic figure. Pike fishing is superb on Muckno but I do tournament match fishing and Pike don't count . I love Ireland in fact its second only to the Languedoc France in my book . Ireland is beautiful and the best people in the world I hope to get over in 2012 to fish the Muckno Pairs again love it

Caroll is it ? 85 m for two flops If Defoe comes then I am guessing that CB's idea is on the money ... One thing is 100% people are talking about him coming ... These leaks have a source somewhere If it happens it happens and fans will think positive things . If that meant losing HH or Mackie who have naturally grown into the QPR soul then **** Defoe or anyone I think players should earn the right to play Barton should have dropped a few times already iMO but he is improving
