You've been at this club for many years now. We saved you from the hell that is Scunthorpe. You will go down as a [Cringe]Legend[/Cringe]. Thank you.

    Right, to my point.

You're a left back, right? The idea of a left back, is to stop the Right Winger of the opposite team attacking our left side*. In the 9~ years you have been with us, you have continually failed to do this. If Nigel thinks you should start. Could you please get a little tighter and stop the odd cross, that's all I/We ask.

    Thank you.

*This is also the same for a Right Back. Swap Left for Right in that case. Don't worry Liam, you've nailed it already.

Sorry but that is totally unfair.
You have every right to voice your opinion and complaints and I would be the first to defend your right to do this, but you are not qualified to criticise a professional footballer (and a loyal servant to this Club) in that way.
I have stated on another thread that Andy (and Nicky and Ash) may be nearing the end of their careers but, if called on, will give their all for the Club, their team-mates and the fans. The adrenalin may be drying up and although the mind is willing the body may not be as able as it once was, nevertheless, Andy Dawson has given his all for this Club through every division and deserves a little more respect than you are giving him.

I think great servant will suffice in summing up Dawsons career at City, Massimo. I agree legend is used quite alot these days. I don't think he'll play much more this season as he's been pretty poor recently but the other stuff is uncalled for.

I hope it all ends well for him.

Tbh if it wasn't for his insistence on letting opponents getting crosses in the box he would give him respect....

I respect everything he has done for us and he is a great servant for our club, and i hope he stays, but at this level his time is up.

I don't think Andy Dawson reads this board. But, just in case he does: Andy - you've been a ****ing great servant to the club and achieved an awful lot in your time with the tigers so far mate - thanks.

I too believe that Andy's ability is no longer of the quality required at this level, nevertheless, there appears to be little alternative but to select him, in which case he will give his all.
You surely do not believe that when a cross is coming over he says to himself "I don't think I'll bother"!!??
Andy has been a 'brick wall' at times for us but the mortar is cracking and he knows it. He has a contract and, to his credit, he is trying to honour it.

    I wouldn't say unfair?

Yes, he's coming to the end of his career, he's been with us for a very long time. Legend is over used, but he will always be remembered as one.

I'm only talking about his ability as a Left Back. Look, I'm no Pro footballer (so my dad told me anyhow) but year after year, he fails to do the basic job he is supposed to do. I couldn't do any better, not saying I could?

Winger gets the ball, he backs off. Time and time again. He invites the cross.

You almost had me on that one.

He had him in his pocket because of Theos inability to cross. I think. Possibly.

Probably my favourite Dawson memory was expecting us to get well and truly smashed by Arsenal with Walcott running him all over the park. No chance, Dawson had him firmly in his pocket, zipped up the lot!
