I wasn't sure what this was all about when it was first banded around. Don't get me wrong, I know what a fanzone is but I couldn't understand why we needed one. Now i've seen the plans and the reasoning behind it, it makes perfect sense and is a good idea. Anything that relieves some of the congestion around food areas and even in bar area, is much welcome. Oddly enough I had thought for a while that the Rainham End food areas were becoming a bit of a risk in the event of an incident due to an area compacted with so many people. That's just a view btw not a H&S assessment. So here it is for 900 people, plans submitted... please log in to view this image Which will be built within our own confined area and stewarded to ensure safety and alcohol consumption is kept within suitable bounds... please log in to view this image please log in to view this image All very American naturally... https://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway...-priestfield-stadium-a-key-step-in-th-318274/
It's going to go down well with The Cricketers !....... and the parking attendants ! Realistically, the Club should have provided a Fan Zone, in said location, years ago... On many days (especially good ones ), there is always many fans spending lots of cash / money at The Cricketers..... income that should have been coming into the Club. --- the income will far outweigh that lost from the reduction in car parking - but - will force a few motorists to be in peril of where they will now have to park.
I would like to think that (( subject to broadcasting rules - current , or future )), the fanzone could be used to show (live), all Away games...... I believe that the 'relaxation' of rules relating to live broadcast of Saturday 3pm matches, are being considered for a couple of years time.
I think I had heard that as a suggestion at one of the forums, can't really remember, thoughts along the lines of using for TV games.
