Fan zone open for Wear-Tyne derby
    Published: 21 October, 2015
    by Oscar Chamberlain

Head down to the fan zone this weekend.

Sunderland fans can enjoy a special derby-day experience in the Stadium of Light’s Fan Zone on Sunday, re-living some of their favourite derby moments on the Fan Zone’s big screen.

As well as enjoying the best of the action from previous derby games, there will be live music and entertainment for all ages, the highlight of which will be emerging north east indie stars Social Room live on stage in the build up to kick off.

Fans can also take up the FIFA 16 challenge or test their skills with the inflatable speed cage, target game and mini football pitch.

A wide range of food will be on offer, including special breakfast stotties, along with a full bar service for fans from 9am. The Fan Zone will also be open after the game.

Fans must show a valid season card or match ticket to enter the Fan Zone, which is only open to home fans for this game.

Supporters are advised to arrive early for the game, which is a 12noon kick off, in light of the capacity crowd expected and enhanced safety measures in place. The club advises fans to allow additional time for their journey both to and from the stadium and to be aware of a number of changes to the normal match day arrangements, including to the traffic management and entrance and exit procedures.

I've been to FZ once and asked they said it was - but imo a real hot spot for trouble on derby day - its to encourages both sets of fans for pre game banter/chat - I only see it as target for troublemakers (both sets of fans) unless heavily policed - and that may cause trouble in itself

Cheers C Thats good - let's hope police keep away fans from the area though before & after game - if we do what I hope they'll not be very happy at the end:1980_boogie_down:
