Hello to all members, many of you may have seen me posting my bits around, that i do on my gills blog,i have now been asked by someone about a fanzine or maybe a online version. Would like people opinions of what would be involved and what sort of articles, were in these fanzines ? many thanks Keith
I forget his name but I believe a guy hotsm off the old BBC606 used to do stuff for it. I did try once to get him to come over here, not sure if he ever did though. Podcast is not my thing so best of luck with that.
I need to work on,what is next,i can't keep on with interviews and match reviews, especially as the season is nearly over, but i have a epic idea.
Id be interested in listening to a Gills podcast. We barely get a mention on other football podcasts. even when we one the league.
I think this illustrates the problem of an online fanzine. I remember the old, paper, version of BMH, which offered amusing, witty and usually interesting views of the Gills progress (or, most usually, lack of it). I was delighted when I found the online version, but it hasn't been updated for almost 2 years. The quality is obviously still there - I think it was started by the same guy who played a major part in the mag - but something like that needs a dedicated editor and significant external contributions. My own advice if you did want to get into the Gills fanzine business would be to contact the BMH website operator / owner and see if he would be willing to pass over editorial responsibilities. The BMH name should certainly give the operation a kick start if it were sufficiently well publicised.
That is fine, but if it was agreed, then it would leave me with a dilemma, with my own blog or BMH fanzine.
