Hi all, slightly disillusioned Saints fan in peace!!
I'm just putting together my Telegraph Fantasy football team and i've got one place left in midfield and i can't choose between De Jong and Cabella. For those Fantasy footballers out there, who do you think will score the most points in terms of goals, assists etc? I've gone for De Jong at the moment but thought it was worth checking with the experts, so to speak. Any help greatfully received. Thanks in adavance and good luck for the season!

I would personally go for Cabella, over the season he should get quite a few assists and more or less match De Jong for goals.

I chose cabella but was thinking de jong would be a better choice, alightly more experienced and will likely be just off the striker..already shown he can strike a ball well and most of our play will go through him etc

At this point we don't really know a lot to be totally truthful

I'd say De Jong as I have a feeling he may take our penalties too.

I reckon De Jong more goals, Cabella more assists so Cabella relies on our forwards more to get the points. I don't know anyone here that would really want to rely on our strikers!

I haven't got stats to back it up but we don't seem to get many penalties.
I've gone for De Jong though as Sun offers Nowt for assists

De Jong would be the one but I suspect he may miss a few games through injury. Cabella is the safer option.

Anyway its all about Rolando Aarons nowadays. The new John Barnes. Crossed with Cristiano Ronaldo. No pressure.

Ronaldo yes but unless you've seen him down a can of lucozade in one and volley it into a bin I'm not seeing the John Barnes in him.

Left sided English-Jamaican who beats people for fun and can cross. You're wrong. Again. Think early days Barnes, forget the fat version which turned up here when Hall ordered the destruction of KK's team. He just needs an afro.

I know who John Barnes is for Christ sake I was hoping you might see the joke about the lucozade advert in the 90 ' s

    I'm wasted on you

I always thought he was overrated actually.

Personally I'd go with Riviere. I think he may make an explosive start, but is unlikely to keep it going during the tougher fixtures later on. Presently he's the one holding the single CF berth in the team, and we're a team that's likely to rely heavily on a number 9.

Note. Don't pick Riviere. I'm notoriously bad at fantasy football.

Would you accept alternatives such as red bull, relentless etc? I'd just like us to have a broader selection of beverage cans that he may have punted!

I did get the joke. I had to work a way of telling you that you were wrong into the bargain though. Barnes was not overrated, thats outrageous. He was used pathetically by England managers though. Partly Bobby but mainly Taylor. His efforts domestically were ridiculous.

If you said cheese, I'd say no thanks, that fatty **** is not entering my body at present. Its temple time! However I do like Wenslydale when not on a mission. I imagine you would like a bit of Mature Wookey Hole Cheddar.
