Every away game I go to or watch on the TV/PC, all you can ever hear is the Newcastle fans <applause>

Someone mentioned that St James' has lost its atmosphere this season though?

it's one of the things I remember well at home, being able to hear what was happening at the game most place in town, you don't need to be there to know who'se winning

Yep, it was good on Sat, had the traditional croaky voice when I got home from shouting and singing all match. Villa fans were complete shjte, they only cheered when they scored. I'd say they're on a par with Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge for their quietness. Not a dig at those in particular, SJP can be quiet (I only go to a couple of home games a season and 5/6 away ones) - seems to be happening more and more. Everton away last season for example. I think the days of a regularly brilliant home atmosphere at any stadium in the top flight are gone unless standing is brought back. Yes on occasion, but most teams have poor atmospheres unless it's an exceptional game going from end-to-end, or a derby match.
