    I, like many of you, thought Carroll would not go. So we were wrong, horrifically so, but I just wanted to ask what the point of contracts in football are? Carroll says "I was forced, I tells ya" but a contract goes both ways, so he could have simply said "no". Basically, we are completely up the proverbial creak, with a "yes-man" manager, no goal scorers and an absolutely money grabbing fat......you know what.....for a chairman. I don't believe any of them. They all wanted this move, it's just us fans left to suffer more humiliating days out, with ridicule all around. The life of a newcastle fan is like the worst rollercoaster in the world, it forgets to gain height before plunging to new depths.

    i feel the same mate - although now for some reason my anger isnt at carroll and more at the fat one. 31/1/11 - a huge turning point in the fortunes of newcastle united - this will have negative knock-on consequences. maybe not relegation this season - luckilly i think we have too many points on the board, but i can certainly see an influx of our better players leaving, or being forced out which ever way you want to look at it. What a change from literally 12 hours ago!

    Outrageous, I'm not a fan of selling to a rival club, especially when the player may actually succeed. I'm angry at Carroll and Ashley, surely this is the straw that broke the camels back for the pie eating moron.

    I like most am angered at the whole timing of this, why couldn't Ashley just wait til the summer to sell. I can't see how the price would have changed that much hanging on for a few months. But on the other hand £35m for what is still an unproven premier league striker Liverpool are taking a big risk. My anger has subsided a little since last night and all in all i think it's a good bit of business providing Ashley put's some of that cash into the team. I for one think we will survive this season but it goes without saying that we need to invest in the summer. All i'm saying lads is try not to get to down about it afterall one man does not make a team and you never know now that Carroll has gone Shola might up his game!

    once a player says he wants out thats the last straw im afraid
    what would be the point in keeping him after that?
    why are we worrying
    Taylor will be out for revenge
    Carroll wont do a thing against him at anfield
    <ok>
