The next fans sites meeting with the club has been arranged for 1st April. These meetings only cover media and communications topics, so that is from the website, via their Twitter feed, to London Call-In, also covering the matchday programme, the InsideR and the You Tube output. Does anyone have any matters that they would like brought up, or issues to be clarified? If not, at least I get the chance of a beer with Bushman!
Tell them to keep up the good work And one day I will sort out the club's ID going forward. Understand that we are currently a work in progress to get to the top tier but also need to work a lot harder setting out this plan of action A club with the plans we have should be bouncing not fire fighting You get the odd statement or promise But it's the quiet bits in between that aren't being very well used IMO In a short period of time our club has become The Harry Redknapp show They need to address this and we need to enguage the fans a lot more Any one noticed that most stories are about Harold? He is likely to be dead and forgotten before things start to happen Our club is bigger than just one person It needs addressing and the PR department need to lead rather than follow Its show time so pick up the pace
We waited a very long time for any news on the new stadium and things have gone very quiet again very quickly. So I would definitely like to get more communications about a project that I see as being central to the future of my club. There must be tons going on in regard to such a complex undertaking. For example, it would be good to know how it is going to be funded and whether or not it is dependent on our regaining Premiership status.
Funny how the club can call a meeting on any subject they want, but we get no board reps at the fans forum meetings. They still only listen when they want to. Edit: The media team are not the issue, great improvment on what we had before, DT's Feet have a point also.
If you are referring to the "Evening with Harry" back in October (I think), I was at that one too. By all means be cynical, but you get no where without trying.
One thing I would like to see is a regular blog (daily would be too frequent) of what the squad have been doing in training, community & social activities. In terms of training, I don't mean give away secret moves, but more general, offensive, defensive, set pieces, penalties etc. this would at least reassure many that the coaches are noticing the same deficiencies as the fans. It doesn't need to be a huge piece , just a few lines, updates on players, recovery of injuries. It would certainly help in the quiet periods and may create a bit of insight in to our team spirit and how the players view their social responsibilities. I think most were impressed by Joey Barton's actions on the Tony Mills' special day. Would this sort if thing interest others or am I sad to think about the players on a micro level?
I agree on an "Injury blog". When we keep hearing about all our injuries, it would be good to get more regular updates on injury progress, rehabilitation work being done, and insight from the players (which give them a connection to the fanbase too while they go through their recovery). Injured players may as well be locked away in a cave, and wheeled out on match days. Also, I don't know about any others, but I always have problems getting QPR player working on the ipad; matchday commentaries and videos don't seem to work (is it only me??). While our PR machine is much better than it has been, it does come across very 'organised' and only giving us the party line. I'd like it to feel more honest, with (as R4e said) more insight on what happens during training. The training ground vids were always quite good, with some banter/team spirit coming across when players were interviewed after training. That seems to have disappeared. Shame.
I take slight exception to that roller, I have at all times and have never waivered in my view that Phil Beard is a coward and totally unsuited to his role. Further more his one and only showing resulted in all the laundry from his department being forensically aired in public, he could take some media training and learn his role inside out. or he can hide. Have you seen him lately? he appears to be charlies new bodyguard or stalker. "im going to grow my beard till your better" makes you sick. In Phils defence at least he showed up once, if you want to communicate with the chairman you just have to be in the right seat or pub. Corporate types eh? The Media team is the only dept in the club that functions or have I got that wrong? So this is really going to be a pat on the back session on the whole isn't it. These types of affairs are just far easier to digest when served with a side disk of honesty by the sexy waitress of humility. I digress. I'd like someone to explain the brain drain, Mclaren, Bircham, Broomfield have all left this season. Why? and Furlong aside will their replacment ever be better? Injuries? burnley are just lucky aren't they....... Its a poor show from the top again roller, Caterham are 9 seconds off the pace already after pre season testing finished, which is, and correct me if I wrong, worse than this time last year. A football club is similar to an airline in one respect chairman & Execs dont have to talk to fans or passengers if they dont want to. Cynical, We're a farce Roller.
Well, I've certainly given up trying to navigate my way around the website and there must be many others who have done the same. It really must be improved!! Also, regular feedback on injuries would be a good thing imo.
Same...havent been on the official site for months. Not so bothered about regular player contact as obviouslythey cant show us everything they practice but injury updates would be good. Do we have any plan forr what we are going to do IF we do get promoted (or even if we dont) with regards to new & existing players? Dont need immense amounts of detail but it would be good to know if we have actually thought about next season, no matter where we may be?
You boys need to tech up a bit ... current site is a bog standard UI to me ... where would you want to take it? back ten years?
Roller, I, too, would value more info 're injuries. Charlie is classic example. Rest of the season? 4-6 weeks? I appreciate there may be tactical reasons for keeping that private rather than public.
Personally I would like to get an update on what was proposed before where the club were looking at taking over the website themselves - think it was around 2017 that it would happen? Also, is there anything that can be done about the mobile site - it isn't great at the moment Perhaps also profiles/more info of our u21/u18 players could be added to the website. But other than that, I do think our media team do a great job - we do get a lot of good things as fans - like London Call-In, The InsideR, and more recently the introduction into new platforms such as the Google Hangout.
However state-of-the-art you say it is, it's not user friendly to anyone that hasn't got a diploma in advanced computer technology, nor is it particularly intuitive
