I read this in some detail, because I'm a sad case. I think the most telling phrase is the following: "The amount owed to the owner was disclosed in last accounts and the figure is currently less than that." Coming immediately after the discussion about why we made a profit in the transfer window - this is Weasel Charnley's way of saying that Fat Mike has pocketed the cash. It also sounds strongly like the 'cash flow' stuff is counting any and all money going out, but discounting instalments from any transfers except ones made this season. This is the problem with this committee/forum stuff - you can ask all the right questions (and the fans did) but unless you sit down and look at the same set of numbers then the defending side can just tell half-truths until the time runs out or the conversation moves on. Government departments do it all the bloody time. Maybe Charnley is auditioning for a remake of Yes, Minister. He thinks he's Sir Humphrey, but he's really Bernard at best.
NUST come out this morning saying they didn't approve these minuets... It's clear even in these ****ty redacted comments they were squirming and wriggling. Be interesting to see if anyone has the recording of the meeting. Think that'd give you a better idea of what went on.
The fact that all questions have to be submitted in advance is another comedy element as the ****witts running our club clearly cannot think on their feet. Tits.
Obvious to some is incomprehensible to others . When I'm dealing with people that shout at walls I try to keep things simple my friend.
Yep, sounds like the money has gone on paying off loans. How much is anyone's guess but they said they wanted short-term loans (£33m in the last accounts) paid off by the end of the season so it might not be that much. Most of the answers to the questions are the usual woolly, vague answers we have heard many times before. I think there was a hint in there about us not being willing to compete on wages. Absolutely no explanation of why the manager was given a transfer budget of zero when they have admitted that there were 2 tranches of Premier League cash having come in over the summer.
If SD are paying for advertising then how much? It is inferred that it is less than what companies would normally pay for it. Has Ashley paid off the big loan or a substantial part of it and that's why they are paying for advertising now? More questions than answers, yet again. Don't fret though, we only have to wait another 6 months to ask some more questions at the next FF and get vague platitudes from the club in return.
The Fans Forum is nothing other than another PR stunt ................... tells us nothing and solves nothing .................... waste of time for me, especially if the minutes are going to be released without one party actually agreeing to them. The club may as well just issue quarterly press releases and save everybody the bother.
