http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/031212-fans-fixture-returns-for-barnsley-522660.aspx?pageView=full "....... Sweet Jeez we only pulled in 20,000 for the sheep worriers and they are our local rivals (although admittedly they don't care about us) - but these Barnsley ******* are another 40 miles further oop north! .... we'll be lucky if they bring any more than a half-full mini-bus and a few whippets unless Darren Gough comes over from MK and buys a couple of seats to occupy his rapidly expanding arse (not referring to Adrian Durham for the avoidance of doubt)- so we had better do something quick to attract more of our own suckers..."
The club only have themselves to blame.. I said before the season started the rise in prices was total folly... when people are sruggling to heat their homes, put petrol in their cars and hang on to their jobs..then witnessing a player whiping his arse on £20 notes..clubs avoiding their tax obligations etc.. is it any wonder they think twice about forking out 35 quid for a home game ?
Spot on IUTBJF ... the clubs are increasingly more out of touch with the traditional fan base ... certainly footie s no longer the 'working man's sport' ... Ridgewell should be force fed those notes ...
They have now also discounted tickets for the Huddersfield game on New years day http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/041212-mercury-ticket-offer-for-huddersfield-visit-525004.aspx
Will be spending new years in bed with a hangover like I have for the past dozen plus new years. Hopefully the Burton game will be a decent price as I should have recovered by then.
Should be less to encompass an 'embarrassment refund' element to offset the emotional damage of the last game against them ...
But after Burton we only lost one of our next nine games. Maybe we should thank them, they may have inspired us to be better!
