People you've met, or just seen somewhere. I have a very short list, but I'm betting you guys can come up with some good ones. Saw Prince William in Iraklion Airport. I only mention this one because he noticed I'd noticed him and did that raised eyebrow thing. The guy was surrounded by casually dressed security. On the same Island, Sven Ericsson. I didn't bother him as he looked as ****faced as I was. Paul Weller was one of the most natural people you'd ever want to talk to. Chris Chilton, was the only one I felt starstruck with. I know I gave that away, because my jaw dropped and he knew I knew. So let's see who you saw or even met in Sainsbury
I guess Paul Heaton on a few occasions when he lived down Grafton St. Richard E Grant walking casually through Sloan Sq in his own style.
Prince Harry's Mam outside Green Bricks, shook my hand, think she was opening Dove House on that day.
Too many to mention, but most recently...Cityzen in The Sandringham Edit: I've met TwoWrights too but he was very standoffish...
Prince Harry's dad outside of Earl de Grey, nice chap that Major Hewitt. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
I met Harry's Royal Dad's real Mum and Dad(had a chat with old Phil) in 1977 during their Jubilee tour of Scotland...
Worked for a music record label several years ago so I saw/met/spoke to quite a few. Ed Sheeran, Jonas Blue, Gene Simmons, Linkin Park, Dee Snider from Twisted Sister, loads more. In my current job I've met Bear Grylls, various radio DJ's, broadcasters and news journalists. Met Chris Evans through work. Really nice guy but he's absolutely massive. Taller than what you think. Met Laura Whitmore whilst I was on work experience before she was a big celeb. I live London so have seen a few who have walked by. Lead singer from Keane, Ian McKellen, various politicians, Matt Le Tissier
I’ve met a fair few famous faces… best one was Pat Phoenix when I worked on the norland. She was invited to the officers bar but chose to come to the crew’s, what a classy lady she was, sporting a mink coat and high heels but so down to earth. Stayed for almost all the night, wanted to buy us all a round but didn’t get the chance. Tony booth was a great conversationalist and chatted to everyone. I met John miles for those old enough to know who he was. He opened a record store on south street in town. I held his tankard of champagne as he signed my book, had a crafty swigg….met the chaser Shaun Wallace in paragon station, he’d just got off the train and looked lost. I asked if I could point him in the right direction, he wanted the double tree hotel. He said did I want a photo or him to sign anything for helping, I said no but next time your on the chase, mention me… Norm hull city fan…. I’ve shagged the ex girlfriend of John Lennon’s son if that counts as famous, well she said she was his ex girlfriend.. not so memorable if memory serves me well. I met dire straits when they were touring on the brothers in Arms tour, their manager was the biggest fatest ****ing cockney nob ed I’ve ever met. What an absolute ****er, so ****ing full of himself, going bald with a pigtail of what was left, twat. Gave me a tee shirt that was too big for him, absolute tent. There is more but as I’m getting pissed my memory is fading fast… and half a dozen of these little men are putting me to sleep…nite ****ing nite chaps…
I know Kenny Young, the bloke who co-wrote 'Under the Boardwalk'. And what's more he owes me a fiver, but that's another story. Played cricket a bit with a bloke who'd had it away with Sandie Shaw. Working as a waiter in a club I had to take drinks into Olivia Newton John's dressing room. She was sitting in front of her mirror in her underwear. I was 16 at the time, cue embarrassing growth in my trousers... Used to deliver Chris Chilton's sunday papers when he lived off North Road.
Drank regular with Roland Gift. Buddy Rich when he played Cecil with his Jazz Orchestra, shook his hand after the show. Can't remember his name but the weirdo out of the group Darts after the show at City Hall. Mick Ronson and Bowie on Greatfield, was stood talking to them for about half hour. Bumped into Mick regular up there.
A few I’ve met over the years. Ant & Dec James Whale Terry Wogan Robbie Fowler Steve Smith (Ex British High Jumper) Michael Owen Lee Evans Geoff Capes Graham Norton Luka Modric
