Answer to our attack this season- no out and out goalscorer but a versatile midfield - saying that though im surprised the dempsey deal didnt go through, esp. at £6m

Yes I thought this but still we lack the depth in forward positions, and we NEED a player who can actually score. In teams with the 'false 9' (mainly spain & barca) they still have the lethal David Villa on the left who is one of the most clinical finishers in the game. We have Suarez, Borini (unproven), Sterling (unproven), Assaidi (unproven) and maybe Gerrard although with Lucas out he may be used in midfield mainly. Morgan and the new dude are too young to be relying on as is Sterling.

Thought we would bring in someone but I suppose we are now paying the price for KK & DC's mistakes. Thinking of who we could have had with the £100m they spent is unreal, what a waste.

I'd say this is possible. But it rellies heavily on a quality midfield with lots of freedom.

With Lucas injured we may loose some of that freedom.

Gerrard could make a good fulse 9 though, with Shelvey in the middle with Sahin and Allen.
