I have just been told that BR and HJ have had a massive falling out, which resulted in BR putting the phone down on HJ........Why....contracts, BR not a happy chappie. Any one else heard anythin?
Dai? As in Daiswan? Lol - Your hate for Huw hasn't changed since promotion then lol? Sounds like utter tripe to me.
No sorry not that Dai..... I like both Huw and Brendon but concerned about this spat....Hope its not true, will monitor the situation with my spy in the camp and up date if I find anymore out...
Im pretty sure this didnt happen or if it did it wasnt anything serious...... Brendan and huw's relationship is a good one! but indeed if it is true... where did you here it from??
Is this the News of The World phone hacking again. Personally i wouldn't believe it unless it became public knowledge.
I have no idea what this is about so the following scenario is purely conjecture. If Brendan, and I stress if, is moaning about the club inserting clauses that wages are reduced in the event of relegation, then I would not support him in this. IF Huw is sticking to his guns, a la DDV, I will back him 100%. The logic is straightforward. The playing staff through their efforts earned us promotion, so they deserve a salary increase to reflect that. By the same token if, through their efforts the club is relegated, then their salary should drop to a scale commensurate with the level they are playing at. If every club in the Football League system adopted this approach, it would introduce a measure of control to the escalating greed that is infesting our game: a greed that will sooner than people think, lead to several long established clubs going to the wall. When I grew up, football was a sport that everyone could afford. Not any longer. As each year passes the sport becomes ever more distant from its grass roots support. And why? Player's wages is why. Ultimately it is the fans who pick up the bill because the clubs have to pass the costs on. I read somewhere that in real terms the cost of watching football has risen ten times since I was first a young regular at the Vetch. As far as I'm concerned, our newly acquired windfall should be used to secure the future of our football club, NOT ploughed into the ever deepening pockets of already overpaid mercenaries, so they can buy a more expensive solid gold Rolex or upgrade to the latest Bentley. Jealous? Of course I am! But that is not what this post is about. I love my football club and believe it is worth a thousand of the likes of Dorus de Vries; in fact a thousand or more of any footballer you care to name. For me, our present financial policy has served us well. We have battled back from the edge of extinction and probably, for the first time ever, our club is at last in a totally secure position with the funds to invest in an Academy that will serve our needs for the foreseeable future. I repeat that I have no idea what this spat is about but if it is a question of having to pay Premiership wages should we drop to the Championship, WE WOULD BE COMPLETE IDIOTS to even contemplate it.
Ivor, you`ve put into words what I`ve been thinking for a long while. Can`t do any better than what you`ve just said, agree with everything you say. Rock on Tommy.
superb post. why do some of our fans (Dai), desperately want ther to be some bad news about our club. f*ck we should all be excited and enjoying this not as some will have it all doom and gloom. thid year will be a rollercoaster ride. for f*ck sake just enjoy it.
I'm not worried about our great club, I'm so excited about the forthcoming seasons, the UPS and downs of the premier league. I heard a rumour and wanted to see if anyone else had heard it....it appears to be pie in the sky......happy days, so my club rolls on as one. Pardon me for sharing some info.....maybe its not good to talk....lol
i cant see it myself, whoever is supposed to know this is either in huw's pocket or in bucks, load of rubbish....
this insider must be amazing, he is not only privvy to the private conversation of BR and HJ, he/she also knows exactly what the other person on the other end of the phone was thinking and doing......mmmmmmm It must have been done via a video link in a public place then.
Great post by Ivor, sums up what is wrong with modern day football. Some Swans fans I know who have followed us home and away for years are now really worried that it will be impossible for them to afford tickets for our away games even if they were readily available. It wil be around £60 to watch at the Emirates and Stamford Bridge which seems an extortinate amount to most on an average wage yet to some of these footballers they think nothing of spending their thousands a week on fast cars and jewellery.
