Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao may not be at Old Trafford next season, according to his agent. The Colombian, who earns £265,000 a week, has scored three goals in 13 appearances since signing from Monaco in a £6m season-long loan in September. United have until May to activate a £40m buy-out clause. "He will play in one of the very best clubs in the world next season, whether that is Manchester United or not," said the 28-year-old's agent Jorge Mendes. Falcao's career at Old Trafford has been hampered by a calf injury and he has started only eight matches. He was dropped from manager Louis van Gaal's 18-man squad for the 1-0 home defeat by Southampton on Sunday after starting the previous five games. Afterwards Van Gaal said there was no injury problem and the decision was tactical. "It is very difficult for Manchester United fans," Mendes told Sky Italia. "They have an absolutely brilliant player, one of the very best in the world, who would without any doubt play 90 minutes of the match, every time, with any other club. "The truth is, right now, we don't know what will happen." That sounds to me like Falcao is pissed at being dropped! Ridiculous, if that is the case, and childish.
I wonder if he will ever regain the form that he was known for at Athletico? At £40 million it is a risk.
Is his agent touting around already and using some form of scare tactics, or some sort of veiled threat that he will be off in the summer if Utd don't play him? He hasn't played much, but he hasn't set the world alight when he has played. That may change in the coming months
He's not really touting him around from Utd's point of view, more from Monaco's. The implication that he'll be at one of the best club's in the world seems to be a clear shot at Monaco, given how far they've fallen since he signed for them. The decision to sign him or not is still very much in our court given the buy out clause, his agent is simply trying to make sure other clubs are interested in case we turn him down. We have until May to make a decision, and given his slow start I doubt we'll make a decision much before then. So I'd expect more headlines like this every time he is subbed or doesn't play.
I think this is a concern, but more for this season than what we do with him in the summer. I do worry a little that with RVP getting injured or having a dip in form, Wilson still cutting his teeth, Falcao's inconsistent form, that we'll end up relying on goals from Rooney, Di Maria and the midfield. TBF the irony is he was beginning to show a bit of form before he was rested against Southampton and I'm still optomistic he'll have a decent season (assists and goals). But if he doesn't I won't be bothered if we don't sign him, bcos there are others out there for that price.

I have a funny feeling that we are being pushed into a permanent deal by his (and De Gea's) agent who, I suspect is telling the club that if we don't take Falcao he will be pushing for a move to RM for De Gea. For that reason alone I would keep him as there aren't that many good keepers out there at the moment.
