Well that was better – possibly the worst first half we have played all season but those doubting Laudrup’s’ managerial credentials have to admit that he turned it around. God knows what he said at half time but it worked!

We looked totally shapeless in the first half and were really missing a certain Chico Flores; Monk has been a great servant to SCFC and, although he didn’t make any glaring mistakes, our back four looked unbalanced without Chico. Conceding just before half time is always a hammer blow, but I think in this case it actually did us a favour – we looked like a totally different team when we came out for the second half! Much more urgency, and attacking as a team rather than a bunch of individuals. The second half was the polar opposite of the awful, and quite frankly embarrassing, first. It looked like we finally had our beloved Swansea back!

I have defended the team, in hindsight a bit ‘one-eyed’, during this recent dip in form and during that second half I was seriously eating my words, but the way we turned it around in the second half was a joy to behold; okay, it wasn’t the best football we have ever played, and we still looked sloppy at times, but the commitment and refusal to give in was back. The second half was as good as the first was bad. The team repaid us for some of the faith that we had showed in them – even Itay, awful first touch but great deflected second. And what about Rangel – great ‘over the shoulder’ finish that RVP would have been proud of! And Tiendalli took his goal really well, awful defending, and a bit of good fortune, but who cares!

At half time I was predicting a 3-0 Wigan win – really couldn’t see us scoring, and our woeful defending was really worrying me, but have never been happier to have been proved wrong! As welcome as the Man C result was, I felt that neither team had got out of second gear – in fact was worrying whether we had another gear – but we really shifted up a gear tonight!

Very edifying to read the comments from other teams in the relegation battle, seems we have hammered a nail in Wigwam’s relegation coffin but still feel it will come down to the last games of the season – should be a very exciting end to a magnificent campaign, one that we have over achieved in, took our foot off the pedal when safe, but on the evidence of tonight’s second half display I think the team has gone some way to quell the ‘minds on the beach’ attitude that many had accused them of!

Well done Jacks, was calling you all the names under the sun after that inept first half, but my faith was restored after that magnificent, battling, second! <cheers>

A good win, but I think half the team were looking forward to the Man U game on Sunday. Man U will put 8 on us if we play like that.

On a positive note we played poorly and won - so well done lads <ok>

Agree mate, I think everyone was totally pissed off with that 1st half showing, it really started to make you ask questions about motivation, thankfully the boys showed a bit of fight and wigan showed us why they are bottom!

If we play anywhere near that level at Old Trafford then it could be 8-0 to them! that's how **** we were, like the Liverpool game in fact .

Ash Williams playing all over the field? what the **** is that all about ? he was all over the place when he should have been keeping things tight with Monk! I think he was in their final 3rd a few times and not when we had set pieces either! and since when does he take our free kicks? im afraid to say but this player is becoming big time Charlie down here and is maybe believing his own hype, he needs to his own job first not others, if I was JDG I would have told him to **** off and get back in defence!! 1st half was shocking but we pulled it out 2nd half and got a really valuable 3pts . happy for that <ok>

Agree Dragon - whatever happens next, it's a good 'un! Pre season objectives exceeded, coasted through the last few games but rediscovered our mojo in the second half tonight - got a huge smile on my face. The only thing that doesn't sit well with me is that I will be supporting Man C on Saturday so that we have an easier route into the final stages of the Europa League! How the feck did that happen!!?

But a huge Rep to all the boys in the city we call Swansea we are getting far too good at this Premier League bollox - long may it continue!!!!

Who gives a feck about rep, whatever that is - all I know is that we have kept the faith and hammered a nail into the coffin of Booby brown shoes! Another great win, great season, dip in form reversed, belief in the heroes of SCFC restored, and a wonderful way to celebrate the ten years since Hull!

At the risk of sounding like Dai - and I REALLY don't want to - we were lucky. Two gifted goals from one of the sloppiest defences in the league saved us. Poor performances all over the pitch, but we improved second half and as someone else said we played poorly and won. Man U have made a habit of doing that over the years and they seem to do OK.

Off to Shagalluf in a couple of hours so I'm a happy chappy. :)

Quite right NJ. When I saw that I thought WTF? He basically demanded to have the chance to open his account even though every shot he's had this season has hit row Z.

Happy with the three points and still hope Wigan stay up (far prefer the mackems to go down). Schecter is still gash though.
