West Ham Utd V Manchester Utd

The Boleyn ground hosts its last Premier League game after 112 years, and it could barely be more important. A season that promised much, with rising talents such as Payet, Lanzini & a player who we had on loan in 2010, Antonio. On the verge of a cup final, they blew it.....on the cusp of a top four finish as they prepare to move to a new shiny rent free* tax haven of a stadium, but a lackluster performance against the Swans has more doubts entering their minds. After that poor showing, they will surely be up for this match?
Man Utd on the other hand have had a tough season, and come in for a lot of criticism along the way, but curiously they find themselves just two points of a champions league position & right in the midst of the teams who seemingly have laughed at their plight. With one defeat in their last seven, they will see this game as a great opportunity to put pressure on the their rivals.
One can only hope, that we are all enjoying the 'now that's how to win away' thread on Tuesday night, that would leave the door well and truly open for the magical Saints to skip their way into not only our best League finish since 1985, but also our highest points total & loads of other amazing other little stats......but also European football once again......to continue our amazing progression.
Team news to follow, predictions welcome.

If we finish 5th, do we go straight into the group stage of E.L? 6/7th Qualifying?

There is no short answer to that question.

I'm firmly in the "cheer for manure at west spam and then beat Palace" camp. The rest will just happen.

Agreed, I'm not usually one to tempt fate, but I feel this game is too unpredictable to be unsettled my any of my predictions. The Swans did the damage though, without that result this wouldn't be half as much fun.

Ahhhhhh, last home game at the famous old ground. It is very emotional, a very emotional time indeed. Not a sad emotion. An angry emotion. Just fnck off to your glossy New ground, I am sick to death of hearing about it all. Hope it all ends in a sorry defeat and if any of those poxy bubbles fly anywhere over Kent, I will be the first to burst them.

It's that famous old ground called Upton Park, oops I mean the Boleyn Ground - only since it appeared as a question on Pointless has it been widely referred to as that! Only thing that could make this whole obsequious media love affair with this outrageous use of my money worse, would be for John Motson to be slavering his sycophantic, drooling, ill-informed, statistical, wikipaedia researched nonsense whilst wearing a sheepskin coat kissing Harry Redknapp's butt on the pitch at half time. Michael Jackson's little pet had better watch out tonight!

I find myself in the strange (for me) situation of wanting a Utd win. I have rationalised this internally by hoping that if they get CL and win the FA Cup muppet features will be allowed to see out the last year of his contract, I remain convinced Utd would do better without him next year. Has Schneiderlin fallen out with the manager? Seems to have featured little recently.

I find the overkill about saying goodbye to the 'Boleyn' plastic tosh in the sense it was, and remains, Upton Park as far as this old bugger's concerned. If The Dell had been re-named as the Isaac Watts Theater of Petit Mal a couple of years before we left I doubt Saints Fans would refer to it as anything else than The Dell.

I agree but to be fair to the spammers, it has always been the Boleyn Ground.... just more people stayed correcting the use of Upton Park in recent years.

Not a lot of people know this....well only readers of Wikipedia:bandit:...the ground was built on Green Street House (known as Boleyn Castle because Anne Boleyn was supposed to have lived there).

Tempted to edit the entry with a note saying it was often called 'Hoof Park' after Le grande Samuel de graisse, a previous occupant.

I was aware of that. Hence the shocking film "Green Street" and the stupid turrets at the ground.

The best possible (set of) results for us is a West Ham win tonight, with both West Ham and Utd losing their final games, whilst we beat Palace at the weekend and finish 5th :emoticon-0102-bigsm
