I was hoping that your side would roll over and not put the effort in but the team of giants was well up for it and could well have nicked it on another day. I thought Fuller was lively and the defence was very solid and Pulis' gameplan was almost spot on. If they can re-create a similar performance next week it'll be much appreciated. However, how on Earth does Delap get in the team? Surely Shotton could take decent long throws and offer a lot more otherwise.
i am a big Stoke City fan for the rest of the season as from 4.00pm today. Please dont lose to Bolton at home.
Cheers guys DELAP??? see our comments about him on the Stoke board.. My ONLY complaint was, PULIS taking off TWO forwards and replacing with Jones? and Whitehead.. That I think? meant we sat back and had no outlet apart from Crouch. I only listened on the radio and sure we could have scored maybe could have won it but as usual. T.P. played for a POINT and GOOD LUCK to QPR you we're all over us once the subs we're made.. WELL done and let's hope we can beat Bolton next week. PS I've just heard that some Stoke fans we're jeering Anton Ferdinand is this true? If it is you have my permission to SHOT them they are not REAL Stoke fans IMO. I was pleased we actually went for it but, not the substitutions made by T.P. but am I being too harsh on Pulis..
Unfortunately for you Rangers fans, you ought to know that Stoke have lost their last game of the season every year in the Prem - and we don't usually score - nothing new there though.
Well time to buck the trend and beat Bolton next week. If Stoke fans want QPR down may i suggest they dont attend and send the tickets down instead to Loftus Road where im sure QPR fans will buy Stoke shirts for the day and get behind Crouchy and the lads.
NO NO NO I want BOLTON to go down and IF we send them down fantastic. I actually like QPR and your'e fans are level headed and honest. However I dislike COYLE with bells on! Nothing personal I just don't like the guy. I sincerely hope we can win the game BUT, I am reliably informed that, we have FAILED to win ANY of our games on the last day of ANY season since being promoted. Add to that we've never scored a single goal in the said games. Should be a cakewalk then.
Since we've been in the Prem, we've played Arsenal, United and Wigan on the last match. So realistically, there's only one bad result there. And we have scored, against Arsenal, but it I think it may have been a penalty.
I actually thought Delap was alright, he put sone good tackles in and those ****ing throw ons are annoyingly effective I would say neither of us especially looked like creating anything apart from your set pieces, although in the end it was us who scored from a corner
Indeed. Rory is not as good as he was in the first 2 Premier League seasons. What Shotton offers I don't know. Not a Premier League player at all, Championship at best. Rory's throws? Effective? Last I looked they were about as effective as his passing is. Stoke not looking like creating anything? I've never heard that before....
Hey Potter, I'm glad that you don't consider 4-1 at Arsenal, 4-0 at Man U and 1-0 at home to a team in the bottom 3 as a bad result. Clearly we are improving as we don't get pasted away, we still lose and don't score (unlike Norwich and Wigan the last two teams to vist the Emirates, or the mighty Blackburn who scored more in one game at OT than we have managed in 4 visits!) You are right we should not expect anything at place like Arsenal and Man U. I should listen to TP more often, he has it sussed. And yes, it was a penalty at Arsenal!
You say you have never won in your last home game or scored, I guess we will take a 0-0 draw and we stay up by 1 point.
Valid, but as I said on a previous thread a couple of weeks back, we always limp in to the season end!
What's disappointing is that we were safe from relegation some weeks ago and 50 points and a top half finish were achievable. PC warned that he expected a strong finish to the season but apart from the win over Wolves and a good point vs Arsenal we have thrown that chance away by playing negatively and not going for wins.
Yeah, because Norwich and Wigan are the norm aren't they? Everyone goes to the Emirates and wins don't they? I'm nt saying we shouldn't try, and shouldn't expect anything from the top teams, but losing to them is hardly a crime. If we'd lost 0-4 at home to Wigan, that would be a different story entirely, wouldn't it? (Pardew out?)
Any result in isolation can be bigged up or slated. Looking at the bigger picture, we would never expect Stoke to get an away result at a decent team, yet we probably are not suprised if some of the other teams do?
