Can anyone explain these regs and when they are being implemented. I just don't get all this crazy buying by the likes of QPR and teams like Chelsea and City with their hugh wage bills.
I don't think it will stop mate even after the regulations. Football clubs are owned by mega rich and powerful businessmen who employ mega rich and powerful lawyers. I'd like to see how a defunct and corrupt organisation such as UEFA or FIFA for that matter, tackle a global powerhouse like Abramovich or the Arab Sheiks at City and tell them what they can spend on a business they own. Abramovich just took on a bloke in a £3bn law suit and put at risk over £100m worth of legal fees to fight his corner. FIFA and UEFA would be totally out of their depth if they took him on head on. Its just not going to happen.
Supposed to have been used as a sort of trial last season to gauge how far they can push the clubs then in full time next season. However my big problem with this is it is only British teams (not sure about Scotland) which is another stunt by UEFA/FIFA to grind us down. Look at the big Russian clubs Ainsley Makacakey and the other one, also PSG in France they don't seem to have any restrictions on pay or fees. Got to agree that something needs to be done but, it seems strange that all this came about post Abramovich/Mansoor and it scared the hell about of the big clubs in Europe that smaller clubs (no offence to Chelsea or City) at the time were getting the good players and winning the trophies. Again shows the level of corruption in the governing bodies of the game, if they want to clean the game up they should look at putting their own house in order first.
