Various comments have been made about our forum having no rules and that we accept all that goes as a standard on our forum recently, can I confirm that this is a complete load of twaddle, we have our standards and they were laid out 6 months ago, we comply with not606 forum rules and will continue to do so... A Reprint of Previous Thread.....Dated 24/09/2012... Fair Moderation.. There has been a spate of arguments,insults and general bad feeling happening back and forth over on the Bristol Rovers board,culminating in one of our fans being banned from that board by the Rovers Mods,having had quite a bout of that last year myself,I understand how they feel and why they took the actions they did. We as mods co-operate fully with their mods but we can only take actions on our own board and no one from outside will influence us on our actions on this board,however,if any of the following takes place (racism, libelous, homophobic, inciting religious hatred etc)we will take action, after a warnig,people can be banned but with us it's only used as a last resort.. With [thankfully] only a few exceptions the banter between our two sets of fans on here has been on a good natured and civilized level, which is testament to the decent quality of members we have on here,our forum is now twice the size that it was a year ago,we are now about 13th or 14th largest on the whole forum,we are still growing and we want to keep it that way,quality with quantity. However, as with any open forum, we will inevitably experience the prose of posters whose sole intention is to wind up or aggravate supporters of the other side – WUMs, as we have coined them. Now the vast majority of us get pee’d off with WUMs when they make constant attempts to rock the boat, so here are some valuable tips to deal with them. 1. Do NOT post a reply to the thread – that’s exactly what they WANT you to do. 2. Do NOT confront the poster in person as it is likely to end in a bun-fight 3. DO send one or all of us a Private Message (PM) if you see content that you consider unacceptable (racist, libelous, homophobic, inciting religious hatred etc) 4. If a particular member is really getting on your Bristols, DO go to their profile and add them to your ignore list. Their posts will no longer appear on the screen when you are logged in – as far as you are concerned they will no longer exist. Whilst this forum does promote freedom of speech, which means that posting a WUM thread doesn’t necessarily constitute a reason for deleting said thread, I would urge all users to heed the advice above. If we all do so, then the WUMs will soon find themselves ‘talking to themselves’ as their drivel will be falling upon deaf ears (blind eyes?) As far as moderation goes, we believe in self-moderation; these boards run in the manner the majority of users want them to run on each site, not how we think it should be. At the end of the day we are just ordinary fans, using the site for enjoyment, the same as every-one else. You will therefore find us far less conspicuous than some mods and less touchy that some appear to be (I am not aiming that at anyone specific). To avoid the risk of rambling, I’ll end there, but just finish in saying: I care about our forum,our club and our fans and will do everything I can to keep harmony,so post freely,speak frankly but try to avoid getting people’s backs up, as it will probably leave you with an ever depreciating audience. show us all then wiz where we have said anything that is wrong about your board? now bear in mind you all know we have house rules but a few of your members over the last few days wished to break these. you know this wiz as you been reading along and been laughing over here about it. i have politely asked them to stop and they ignored this request. i then politely warned them to stop otherwise i would have to act as mod and put a stop to it and some continued to ignore. i then gave a final warning which seemed to have worked. in the meantime, the clean up work has taken place which as you know is quick work. some things had to be moved and some things deleted. we get a lot of traffic coming on our board due to where i have our board advertised. potential new members who may be looking in seeing what has been going on would not paint a pretty picture. so because the fun for a few of your members have been stopped on our board, 1 city member made a comment.... "CoR puts up threads on our board no one complains" i replied "no one complains your end about posts on your board as you dont have house rules. therefore no rules are being broken your side. so wum threads your end is accepted meaning no one can complain. that system works well your end. doesnt mean it works this end." i said this because i havent seen a wum thread closed/deleted etc on your board or comments deleted etc. which to me says wum threads are acceptable. i made a positive comment about your board saying your board has a system and it works for your board. i think you have miss interpreted my comment wiz and i apologies if it came across as disrepectful to your board but i honestly had no intentions to do so, what you have going here works for your members. that was the point i was making on a final note though from me, you are not responsable for what goes on over on the gas board. you are not responsable for actions of city members who post on the gas board. so no blame is going your way or any other mod. just like me or P49 is not responsable for any gasheads who post stuff on the city board. im just making the point that if some of your members didnt come over and intentionally break our house rules, breaking the system that we have our board, which was agreed by our members and supported by the supermod who had to get involved last time when this happened when a few reds decided to intentionally break our rules, then we would have peace on our board and left to do what we do. and you wouldnt have felt the need to do this thread. there lies the issue im affraid. what we should do as mods, you, shiny, angelic, p49 and me, we should be working together and supporting each other, just like all other mods do on this site. we should work and respect each others ways. just a shame that grown adults who have been given a responsabilty, cant just do this. i be more than happy to do so. anyway, goodnight and good luck vs wolves.
Lads - you have a difficult job. We all want to keep banter between us - that's healthy. However, enevitably at times people will cross the line - I guess that's where you guys come in?? Keep up the good work (on both sides) - we need you!!
I suggest cjs should get off his high-horse and get his power crazy head out of his ass. He's only a moderator of a mickey mouse forum that has around half a dozen at the most posters. If anything he should welcome more threads on their ghost town site.

Seriously is a forum and a football one at that, without Banter it would be boring. For the record i couldn't care less is 82ers posted WUMs on our board but its seems the majority of Gashead's don't agree so we have rules. If you don't want Wums on your site then ban them, if not stop crying about it. Get a life
Why are you getting arsey, it's your board that complained about the banter. Keep it to the banter thread blah blah, it's not banter if it's in one place, it's just a open thread. Banter is the reason most join these forums for. So before you come on here getting all pissy it was you lot that ****ing banned it.

We can tell what your like by your 1st line. Its come down to so called complaints on the rovers board concerning the thread of comparing a rolling tumble-weed to the activity of the board. We haven't 'bitched/cried' as you call it, the problem is on the rovers board.

Just for the record I have never complained about ****heads threads on Rovers board ......although I often post "ban this ****" after ROD's comments
