Given the two or three contrasting views of Stoke's Manager and tactics, thought this article was a fair read. http://www.thisisstaffordshire.co.u...icism-surely/story-14323825-detail/story.html
Fair - hmmm, not sure about that Northern, a good read, depends on your view on Pulis, if Martin Smith is happy being lambasted by Pulis on his all too frequent tirades against the fans. that's up to him, IF he looked in on this board, he may get some differing viewpoints, may he not?? He does seem to be a wee bit mixed up, doesn't really have a fixed opinion, run with the fox and hunt with the hounds so to speak. Finally, I do not like to be labelled "mired in the past" and actively dislike being labelled "hard hearted" by a hack journalist.
He wouldnt get printed if he was extreme or negative, you only have to listen to praise and grumble to understand that! The problem with nay form of production media (Print, radio or TV) is that it has to be as inoffensive to the majority as possible. based on the fact that at least 51% of the city is more than happy with our club (for which probably 99% of them have never been to a match let alone held a season ticket from at least the championship) they would never have a serioulsy negative theme! I remember once on Praise and Grumble a chap coming on and quite elegantly putting over that TP's issue was his reluctance to play the game and use the players in their correct position and he in NO WAY overly slated the manager - he was cut short and Simonsen mocked him!
