Not really been keeping up with this seeing as it is not very important and won't affect us here in good ole Britain. So what's the scoop? Is the worst President in US History actually going to attack or will those pesky Ruskies win him round?

Seems to me that the US are not 100% sure that Syria used chemical weapons on it's own people. Or have they now found beyond reasonable doubt that the weapons were used ny Syria. I would not trust America, nor indeed Russia or any other country's politicians. Always in it for self gain.

The last war we blundered in on the premis that WMD were fact. That was proven to be one big lie as usual.

Worrying times indeed for the world with US and Russia at loggerheads.

As for France, they'll only be going in hanging on to the coat tails of the USA trying desperately not to get involved in any conflict. Surprised they have gone against the Nazi's wishes. They are normally so far up The Fatherland's arse they are in danger of disappearing altogether.

Anyway, I'm sure it will all come out in the wash.

    Nothing to worry about.

Syria's allies include China and Russia, as well as Iran and the militant Hezbollah movement in Lebanon.

This "Arab Spring" has been like a Trojan Horse for religous zealots wanting to push through their own bigoted agendas.

It started in Tunisia and resulted in an Islamist Government being 'voted' in with a huge 37% of the vote. Similar parties have sprung up, notably the Muslim Brotherhood which gained power in Egypt after nearly a century of being shunned by the Establishment. They gained election with a similar proportion of the vote as in Tunisia, and used this mandate to erode people's civil liberties.

Assad is the only thing stopping Syria from entering a full blown civil war.

Assad has been dead for at least 7 years. He died of liver failure in a Saudi hospital.

Putin is in charge in Syria, and every so often he actually takes control of the puppet they made out of Assad's corpse. This will all end with a burial at sea....

You know me dev - i'm not a west is bad and everyone else s good merchant but I genuinely worry that there might be issues around the evidence here and given Syria's allies we cannot afford to make another mistake through taking any form of military action. From a selfish point of view i don't see what would be in it for us anyway - people might not agree but i don't see syria as a threat to the west. Enforce sanctions, take mr Assad off the christmas card list and call him naughty names if they like but anything else would be very dangerous in my view.

"Now, who is pals with Afganistan?"
"Nobody, but they are tough little sons of bitches."

"So, Syria, who is pals with them?"

The Americans are going to do very little, if anything, in Syria. They set themselves up as the moral police force of the world to allow them to do the **** they wanted to do. It's come back to bite them on the ass big time.

They're desperately trying to save face but really don't want to do **** all.

China widny think twice about going at it with the west and Russia would love the chance to ally themselves with the chinks and makes steps toward perhaps becoming a super power again.

At least our Government had the common sense to admit they've shat it and said we're going to do **** all.
