This may get some debate going, if you want to do away with it mods no probs My points is, every Utd fan is banging on about him being best in the world, an amazing world class player, going to cure cancer, looks good in a suit Why did Jose not rate him, not just a bit but at all? How can a world class player not be rated and one of the first names on the team sheet? I know Chelsea chuck money at anything that moves and have an array of players to choose from (over 23 out on loan something needs to be done about that) so why given the probs Jose sees in him wont he have that at Utd? Afterall we're talking two very negative style of plays with Moyes and Mourniho's teams so if Mata cant defend (and utd as a team cant at the min) why is he the second coming and going to solve all the worlds problems?
Good to see so much interest from you. Not wanting to rain on our parade no doubt, just debating haha
Don't think it was a case of Jose not rating him, just him not fitting the style of play we are trying to aim for. You can't keep a player worth £40m rotting on the bench in the current climate (FFP etc) so it was best to sell - although I would rather it hadn't had been United! Out of interest, why does something have to be done about the amount of players we have out on loan? They are far better off out on loan than sitting in our reserves/academy. Baffled by why it bothers oppositon fans, as I haven't the foggiest about any other team in the league's players currently out on loan.
No feeling either way really, a good signing and I'd have liked us to have done it obv but it is a lot of money and I really dont think he's the 2nd coming that some of you think he is IMO like
Liverpool can only dream of getting a player like Mata. He is a true gent, good luck to him at a great club like United
I agree with what you're saying far better they're getting game time but its a very big amount and just smacks of you buying everything and to me thats not very competitive You wont know of others as its nowhere near your amount mate
It is, however the change of managers ever season isn't going to help players on the fringe of the squad to get into the first team so they get sent on loan. a lot of those players will be sold but a good portion of them have a very big chance of making it if we keep Mourinho for a sustained period of time.
We have debated the Pros and cons already. And most of the points you raise we are fully aware of. Great signing for us. I was impressed by the quiet dignity of the guy. No bitterness towards his previous club. Only good words to say about his ex- mates and Maureen. He is already a huge asset to this club.
Was you impressed by how well he looked in a suit? Kingeric would've prefered just a cape but there you go, pics were before the watershed
Well change of managers is down to RA obv And making it if you feel Jose will be there is anther matter of opinion as each transfer window you spend big on proven quality You have the wealthy owner to do so and I think any young player joining you as to give it a good think of how much he wants to make the 11 (that isnt just about Salah before Londons only pipes up)
