I've been watching alot of Barcelona this season, and I've noticed in a few of the bigger games Fabregas has been left on the bench, in favour of Xavi and Iniesta.*

I believe Fabregas is, and has been a better player than either Xavi and Iniesta. In his Arsenal days, he had recorded more assists than any other player in Europe.*

He has scored 7 goals in 13 appearances so far for Barca, having scored a cracking header in Barca's game against A.Bilbao tonight, which is a better goal return than either Xavi or Iniesta. I know goals aren't all a midfielder is judged on, but the fact he was top of the assists league last season in Europe, would suggest he is a pretty good passer aswell.*

Obviously Messi is the best player at Barcelona, but I genuinely believe Fabregas is the 2nd best, and should be picked ahead of either Xavi or Iniesta.*

I respect that Xavi and Iniesta are world class players, but I do believe that the media, has hyped them up to be better than they actually are. I'd take Fabregas and David Silva over them all day long.

I've posted this on the Arsenal board *also, as you guys know him pretty well, hope you don't mind *

I realy don't see what is so funny, as i have already proved Fabregas is a more prolific goalscorer, and provides more assists than either Xavi or Iniesta. Are you another who bases your opinions on what you read in the media?

Actually watch the games, as I do, and you will realise that Fabregas is as good as anyone in that Barca team, with the exception of Messi

it's true, plus fabregas is like 5+ years younger! it's frightening how good he can be!

35 million for him is a stupidly low price!
we should bit for xavi, 20 mil!

Xavi isn't the type of player who gets assists, you can say he has a better record than Iniesta which he does but Iniesta will win you games - Fabregas won't. Anyhow as I was saying, Xavi is an engine, never stops running and never loses the ball. He is the hub of Barcelona and without him there they are less effective. I'm sure Fabregas will grow to become the quality Xavi has been over the past couple of years and be just as important but right now, Xavi is way better.

Different players. Cesc is playing so high up the pitch these days that you would think twice about even calling him a midfielder. Some say he will drop back in the Xavi role when he gets older but Thiago is the one playing that role now so he looks like the Xavi heir.

i dunno if fabz is better than xavi. but fabz in the world is the only natural successor to xavi. Barcalona needed fabz more than people thought

Dude you are chatting rubbish. Fabregas won us loads of games, his creativity, his through balls, his long passes, his vision, far surpasses Xavi who is just a neat and tidy player who keeps the ball moving. Fabregas can play Xavi's game but Xavi cannot play Fabregas' game - this is the reason why I say Fabregas is a better player than Xavi, he is an all round better player.

Fabregas sees passes that few other players see. Iniesta is an attacking midfielder, a fantastic dribbler, you cannot compare him to Fabregas.

    I'll trust Guardiola's judgement.

    Cesc is overrated!

This article is a little misleading.

Fabregas has actually started more games than most thought he would. Aside from messi he's been their best player this term.

So Xavi has no creativity? He's by far the greatest passer of the ball I've ever seen, even from watching games with a sky high camera I don't see the passes that he can play. If Xavi doesn't play, Barca doesn't play, I still say that Xavi is more important to Barca than even Messi.

He jogs round the centre of the pitch and always wins the midfield battle, I'd love to see his opta stats for total distance per game etc.

I can slightly see where your coming from.. However I feel Xavi is better at the moment, but theres a high chance Fabregas could surpass Xavi after 3-4 years at Barcelona!

Ah, the Fantasy Football generation strike again.

Without doubt Xavi is the best player in the world, he just doesn't get any FF points for the way he runs games.

No but the op is talking rubbish.

Fabregas has started more games than most expected and with 13 goals and 10 assists already this season he's doing pretty damn well..

If that racist knob Aragones can manage Spain to a European Championship I think it is fair to say that anyone could manage this current team to a major trophy.

He won one League title in all the time he was a club manager .... since 1974 !!!! Lets not go overboard about how good Guardiola and Del Bosque are - winning things with the best players in the world is no great achievement, Del Bosque had the best players in the world during the beginning of the Galacticos era and Barcelona were already beginning to dominate under Rikjaard (sp?).
