As was to be expected, the media and Arsenal haters have jumped on the Fabregas interview, fishing for little bits of controversy to stir up **** and try to create a wedge between the player and his manager. If anyone actually bothered to read the interview rather than jump on the kneejerk bandwagon, they will find that the interview is actually rather tame. In it, Fabregas said that in Spain, managers would not be given as much time as Wenger to win trophies, but that Arsenal measure success in more than simply silverware. He also said that in football, patience is key as a player. Puyol hadn't won anything until he was 26 and now he has won everything. Fabregas is only 23 and said that if he ever left Arsenal it would be with his head, not his heart and it would never be for another English club. So there's nothing in there that we didn't already know really, but that doesn't stop the rags and the sheep that follow them from seeing this as evidence of Fabregas criticising his manager and 'saying goodbye'
*PISKIESURFER*........ You beat me to it. I was going to come on here all holier-than-thou having read the interview and bore the whatsits off everyone by reassuring the faithful that there is nothing too contentious to read into it. Field day for the Arsenal haters again. And as we know all too well, there are enough of them out there... Have a few of these for your sense of perspective.. PS: What do you make of the "rumours" Cesc has put his London home on the market and has no plans to buy again in the UK? Sorry...stirring the pot again.
I've seen the media twist the words of Sir Alex and rival fans jump all over them like over excited kids in a sweet shop enough times not to take what the media say seriously.
They do it all the time. A player says something, they take it completely out of context, and the next thing you know another stupid rumour has started.
Like Bendtner who never said he is the best in the world, merely that he one day aspires to be at the top level. Nothing wrong with that.
