Hi Guys,
I was watching the BBC sport this morning and after the report about the Sunderland v Everton fixture the presenters went on to say that the young child who came out of the tunnel with Germain Defoe was a cancer sufferer and that there was a fund open that wanted to raise £700,000 to send him to America for vital treatment. They then went onto say that Everton FC had donated £200,000 to that fund on hearing of the appeal. I not unlike many knock clubs and players for the greed and ungameship that seems to infest the game today, so it was really refreshing to hear this news. Well done Everton for putting a bit of respect back into the game and investing in its most valuable asset...supporters. They have also asked the youngster to attend the return fixture at Goodison at their expense, so all in all a massive positive bit of PR for football....Well done!!
