Was not proven innocent. Might well have still done it. Oh and they said the accusation was in good faith.
"Mikel, meanwhile, has been charged with using threatening and/or abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour during the match against Manchester United on 28 October."
Rather than suing the individuals, Clattenburg would be well advised to sue Chelsea FC, after all, they have deeper pockets and often waste money by sacking managers! By doing so, Clattenburg will make them responsible for defamation of his good character and show them that mud-slinging has a price.
not suprised aobut mikel, i imagine he would be pissed off if he believed the referee was racist towards him. would of been charge even if clattenberg was found guilty.
Absolutely disgraceful behaviour. I blame both club and Player. But the player must take the lion share of responsibility. When it happened it had a whiff of settling scores about it. It is one thing for a player (Terry, Suarez) to say things to another player in a confrontation but quite another for a ref to abuse a plyer. This is not Sunday pub football. Mikel will deserve the most severe punishment coming his way so that it also deters others for doing something as crass as this and ruining for no good reason someone's name and reputation. A false accusation that could have landed the guy in jail. Women who falsely accuse someone of rape get jailed these days. What's the difference?
Does that difference really need explaining? Plus...where does it state Mikel is guilty or that Clattenburg is 100% innocent?
For people who only read headlines or think Chelsea will be in any sort of trouble over this: - The FA states Chelsea took the correct action following the Manchester United match and encourages all players who believe they have been either subject, or witness, to discriminatory abuse to report the matter immediately to the match officials on the day, and in turn to the FA. With regards to the Mark Clattenburg decision, the club accepts the case is now concluded and notes the FA states the allegation was made in good faith.
Sadly this will not deter the avalanche of idiots (some who have already appeared above) jumping on the send Chelsea to damnation. As you know there are some pig thick clods about who will not even attempt to understand what you have posted.
Funny JT was cleared by a proper court in this country and yet according to the FA he's still guilty, so yeah I would wipe my arse with their opinion.
