Corporate bullying of the highest order from the organisation charged with promoting grass-roots football...

So typical - it's a disgrace, money wins over grass-roots football all the time

As if a club from Wembley can't use it in their name. The club needs visual support in football stadiums across the country in this. As has been said already corporate bullying of the highest order but they should be made to realize how real fans see this.

Exact proof that the FA and Wembley Stadium does not give a toss about grassroots football. If the FA were amicable they would be working WITH Wembley FC and promoting them. They should be highlighted as a good local club that represents the local, grassroots of football, not stripped of their name.

With that said, I'm not a hotheaded person and won't take the side of Wembley FC just because of the video here. The actual legal elements are not made clear by the video but it seems as though the FA should not be reacting in this way and could be working something else out.

Bit more of depth on the story here....

Wembley FC: Non-league club 'face bankruptcy' in Football Association dispute - BBC Sport http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42442290

I think the Premier League should get in on the legal action too - they've got a lion on the badge, so may get mixed up with them too <laugh>

Wembley Park. I believe....like the tube station.

I am a Wembley girl...and have actually seen Wembley play ...I think I remember one of my school friends playing for them.
Incidentally Wasps RFC used to play on the same site before rugby went professional

Shows the stupidity of the FA......

Apparently the Lion was at the center of the old coat of arms for the old Borough of Wembley before it became part of the Borough of Brent, so perhaps the club have history on their side.........

So, it is nothing to do with the Lion or the club logo...it is to do with the name Wembley. I had not fully grasped that.
They have been comanded to change their badge and name...
Which makes it even more stupid. The club play on a very (very) small pitch on Vale Farm, usual attendances 50-100, max capacity 2500.
There cannot be any confusion at all.I assume they could also be suspended from Spartan South Midlands Football Leagueas well if they do not obey

The club is too poor to appeal.....The petition is over 10,000 already.

We should await either Queen Elizabeth or the estate of Freddie Mercury suing us soon to change our name

But the name Wembley (first mentioned 825) predates Wembley Stadium (opened 1923) by over a thousand years. Is the implication that the place doesn’t exist outside the context of the stadium? Perhaps they will sue all the inhabitants for having the temerity to claim that they live there. Surely you can’t copyright the word ‘lions’?
