Judging on how the FA treated the Barton and Milijas appeals, I think Saints were right not to appeal Rickie's red. As much I am amused about Warnock going into a furious rant and the fact it was Barton who was unfairly punished (for once!), that was never a red for Barton. I don't have a clue what the FA panel are doing. I know they don't want to undermine referees but they will make mistakes and the actual red for Barton was a farce. The ref didnt even stop play for a good 10 seconds after the incident even though the ref was looking straight at it. So, looking back at the Lambert red and comparing it to Barton's I have to admit it was probably justified.

We shouldn't appeal because I think we were embarrassed not to be 3-0 up before he was sent off. We missed a couple of sitters and the goal that was not...

I agree, there was no way Lambert would get it recsinded after the Barton debacle. The FA are complete hypocrites and seem to have lost the plot.

I'm not so sure. Did Barton make head contact? It looks a lot like it to me. He can argue that he merely tickled the Norwich guy but that excuse doesn't work any more, the ref didn't handle it very well (probably the fourth official got involved) but when you start making head contact you are getting yourself into red card territory. Although I am also amused by Warnock and Barton getting angry.

I have to agree with you, although it was very minimal there was still a slight movement from Joey Bartons head even if it was very slight you just can't do that! Not saying it should be a red card but in todays crazy rules he was taking a stupid risk with even the slightest of movements! in my world it was never a sending off but in the F.A world and the rule book world it was a sending off all day long.

On another subject with Barton,it makes me laugh how he seems to take the moral highground on Twitter! criticising everything! and this is the man who stubs a cigar out on a youth team players eye, beats up a 16 year old and has been to prison! the man is a complete and utter joke!

I would have appealed it. If the ref had done his job & punished the cheating Brighton player there would have been no situation to cock up. But instead, he changes the whole complexion of the game & gives a player who has never been in trouble his first red.
'The referees a ****@r' is a total understatement in this case. I need to get over this, because its the last thing I've thought about before sleep for the last 3 nights. I can take defeat, but that was a total croc.

Barton was a red. I think the Ref actually bottled giving it to him initially and then had a good long word with himself! Even feinting with your head towards an opponent is violent conduct.

Still haven't managed to get a really clear look at Rickie's....

Lambert's arm makes contact with El Abd's face. I'd probably smack the cheating **** one too, but you have to restrain yourself as a professional footballer. Appealing it would be a waste of time.

Yep, how someone can bring themselves to read the latest complaint from him every ten minutes is beyond me. Plus his comments are interrupted with sarcasm/abuse from that amoeba Piers Morgan. A little bit of me hopes QPR come back down.
