Push for an extended ban for kicking a ball from beneath a ballboy but avoid banning a career threatening and dangerous "tackle"

But we'll go ahead and ask for this ban to be reduced:

The FA like any other political body have factions, some have more power than others, Gill's group leading the pack, they are still there even though he is has moved on to trying to corrupt UEFA even further for the benefit of United in a bid to get Fergie a few more CLs

Much akin to the old roman senate<laugh>

This is why we are seeing Chelsea and Liverpool players slammed and United players not only treated lightly but defended in some cases. Whelan has friends, that much is clear. Chelsea's support within the FA, much Like Liverpool's is not existent.

I am fairly certain if it was Rio that kicked the ball from under the ball man no action would be taken, nay, Swansea would have been done for the actions of their ground staff.

there is absolutely 100% collusion between those individuals in the FA and crooked refs such as Clutterbug.

The FA are happy to hear claims of incompetence instead of corruption.

If England pick a few more United players in their squad we may be able to get Fergie to have a word with FIFA about letting England win something. Put the tinfoil hat away, the aliens will see you and come calling :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I've long held the view the whole system is corrupt. There is a direct link between corruption and money yet people seem to think the richest league in the world is squeaky clean.

Fact is Football is entertainment's (and BSkyB's) biggest cash cow and United are football's biggest cash cow. Any fool and his cat can see it needs United at the top and in all the best competitions to keep the ball rolling, viewing figures and Sky subscriptions simply would not be sustainable if the clubs with the biggest fanbases languished in mid-table or worse, outside the Premier League. United's "fanbase" and Sky viewers comfortably dwarf that of City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool (if not all 4 combined) despite he large fanbase of all of those.

To me that was always a conspiracy theory I believed in but there were two things that followed which made me realise it was in fact, reality:

    - The media outcry from none other than Newscorp/BSkyB after Abramovich and Mansour's takeover and the public inquest into football being "ruined" ignoring the benefits the takeovers had brought to the league as a whole and the immediate public

    - FFP. When I heard this was coming into place in UEFA and now the PL that's when I knew the whole thing was corrupt. The need to preserve the status quo and cement their positions due to risk from outside challengers. Imagine of Norwich & Fulham were bought out by rich Arab consortiums. Imagine a top 4 of Fulham, Norwich, QPR & Everton? Or a Champions League WITHOUT Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern and United with the likes of Anzhi, Malaga, Zenit and other unfancied sides in it. UEFA simply couldn't allow that to happen hence them hurriedly trying to enforce FFP before more Arab/Russian billionaires wanted to play ball. The simple fact is Sky's money has allowed football clubs to become more powerful than their governing bodies both fincnacially, commercially and politically. Sky/UEFA/FA need United and to a lesser extent Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and City more than we need them. No United in CL = Wave goodbye to 52% of Sky viewers

Since the 1999/00 season, United's dominance of English Football has definitely waned to the point where they can no longer be considered the undisputed best team in the league for year on end. Their dominance has been challenged by Arsenal and more recently Chelsea/City hence why more decisions are going in their favour than ever before. BSkyB having shares in United with the FA's approval tells you all you need to know...

Because the team I support is in it. My interest in the PL would be minimal if we weren't. Corruption exists everywhere, none moreso than politics, it's a way of life. Nothing is played by the book.

There's certainly nothing democratic about the FA! I get the impression they all meet round the local boozer and make up their minds according to what takes their fancy!

I have since found out that he was a Man Utd director for a couple of years, so I may have been a bit hasty. On the other hand he was completely against the Glazers take over, so that could be interesting.
