I might be missing the plot on this one. But, why can a football club not be sponsored by a company that makes alcohol, of any nature, be it beer, wine, spirits or liqueres? BUT the FA cup is sponsored by that **** tasting yank outfit BUD? ,,,,,,Everytime the commentator mentions the FA cup, its said to be in conjunction with Budwieser, so advertising all the same.
We all know that were we to be sponsored by say " BACARDI " There would be a lot more money in the clubs funds, than is available with Tombola, but then again one rule for the FA, and another for the clubs, Bend the rules to suit themselves, as I said HYPOCRACY.

Spot on on this one Bill.

Not to mention the millions coined in from Carling & Worthingtons over the years!

Oh yeah, and the contracted beer kiosks at Wembley...

Sponsored by Chang yes, but where is the mention of it being beer? unlike Budweiser being a well known international brand?

Do-goodie Britain is full of fads like this nowadays - and they're all hypocritical. Co-op for example, won't give a dividend on tobacco sales - but they will on liver-rotting alcohol, they will on cholesterol packed stuff like butter, milk or cheese, etc. There are far too many people in this country who want to treat the public like children.

My point is,,,,,, one rule should cover all, the law should be the law, fair and even. no get outs for fat cats, or people supposedly part of the system that only includes them, and **** the rest.

But the FA Cup just says Budweiser, not Budweiser beer. So what's the difference?
I guess if your a drinker you'll be well aware both are alcoholic. If your not, you won't care.

France dont have any alcohol advertising at all in sport. And we may follow suit soon.

But it was the Americans that done the study, how Alcohol on sports tops etc can influence kids to drink.

This is why there is no advertising on kids tops, I am not sure if its a rule that a Football Club cant have an alcohol company on their tops (well it must not be if Everton have) it might just be the clubs thinking better of it, or getting better deals from other types of companies.

When did this rule come in?

What gets me is the fact that the kids shirts can't have the logo on as it's gambling, yet his Rangers top has Tennants lager splashed across it.
