    Final tomorrow, Chelsea v Liverpool..

Any favourites for anyone.....anyone watching it, anyone care?

Once the biggest game in a season, an event viewed by all, no matter who was playing....Now seems just another game, and if your team is not involved, many won't even bother to watch...

How or why has this once glorious final, come down to this?

May 5th 1973, 39 years ago to the day since Bob Stokoe lifted the trophy, and every Sunderland fan went wild, some of you older one's were even there, but this game would have been watched by the whole country, and many willing the underdogs on to do the impossible, and they did.

Now it's just Chelsea V Liverpool, another game...............shame.

Unfortunately most finals stopped being open affairs in the 60s when the likes of Leeds played for 0-0 wins until the final 5mins. The only other dramatic final that springs to my mind where the team of tryers won was Coventry/Spurs.

Mourhino was in the paper today saing how fantastic it is, but compared to the 60s and 70s it just doesn't register like it did.

If you look at the 70s for example, it was won by Chelsea, Arsenal (twice), Leeds, Us, Liverpool, West Ham, Southampton, Man U & Ipswich. Nine different winners in 10 years? Not going to happen again too soon, is it...

This. I can remember league games in the mid 70's, if we had a bad result I can remember thinking. "it doesn't matter, it's only the league". How times change. I can't even be arsed to watch the game tomorrow, although I probably will........ just to annoy her indoors.
