I would like a lower league team so that we can use it for the some of the squad players, some not getting a look in at the moment. Must be frustrating them and we can see who could rise to the occasion. Otherwise I am more interested in focusing on the league. Thoughts ?
I think you're right. It's a waste of time otherwise with no crowds to generate excitement. League must be the priority with us going so well and you can be sure the yanks will be saying that.
If we had a C team it would be a good run out for them, saves our better players legs getting mangled
never underestimate your opponent , remember us at Oxford , Shelvy did more trying to fight a fan than he did on the pitch (he was crap in both instances)
Fa cup lost its magic long ago for me the fa darlings that buy thier top spots every season have ruined it. This 3rd round is about as exciting as it gets hoping the small clubs progress.
Yes but never forget your roots, we all remember the excitement of drawing a big Club perhaps we've been spoiled
That's why I hope the smaller clubs progress along with us, but be fair it's unlikely they will win it or even reach the final against the big money boys who will put the effort in when the cup n dosh is close, ****ting on the players who may not be first pick usually but who got them there.
I think you'll find that even at amatuer level , sometimes a coaches loyalty is stronger to himself than to his players when theres a chance of picking up a trophy , I know from experience
Went to Stevenage years ago in one of those Leyland Daf cup games..they were in the National League and we were in the second division managed by Brian Flynn....we only had a couple of kids on the bench literally...lost the game...embarrassing night still enjoyed the pre match pint in the town centre
Did you go when we knocked the out of the cup? I live down the road from you. Took my 8 year old daughter and they put us in the family stand, which they have set up right next to the away end. We had all the 60 year old skinheads coming in to swear at the Swans fans. Part of that ground made the Vetch look posh. great day out. For them it was a disaster being the holders, knocked out by a lower league team with an ex Southampton player (Dyer) scoring.
