Dear All Hope you don`t mind an invasion to your board from a SUnderland fan but... I live in Spalding, work in Peterborough but, for reasons of birth-rite am a Sunderland fan (as are all the blokes in my family). I don`t get "up north" often enough to justify a season ticket so occasionally make my way to London Road to watch a game. I need (need to see not just want!) a couple of tickets for the Sunderland end for the FA cup game. I have spoken to Sunderland - no tickets unless you`re a season ticket holder. I have spoken to Posh - they won`t sell me any tickets for the Sunderland end given my PE postcode! My current thinking is to get some tickets in either the Main Stand (Moys End) or the N&P stand Lower tier near the away end and then try and "do a bunk" into the Away end. I`ve never been near enough to notice if this goes on or not and, if it does, how successful it might be! Any thoughts or any alternative suggestions Cheers
It used to happen years ago and wasn't a problem, but you could end up missing the game having been ejected from the ground, a covert parachute drop would be risky and out of the question, so too would be accessing the ground in the early hours and lying low until it opened. you could always try giving a certain Mr S Bruce a call in the hope that he might have some tickets that are excess to requirements.
Not a chance I'm afraid. The stewards are pretty hot, not literally, at stopping things like this. As it is now on TV you may have more of a chance of getting tickets, why spend £25 a ticket when you can watch it for free?
I believe that cash turnstiles will be in operation on the day, and there seems to be plenty of SAFC fans travelling down to use them..
