No toss of a coin needed till BT sort out their TWO live fixtures for the first round of the cup The two slots are Friday night and Monday night Could I ask as many of you as possible to you all fire off an e-mail to BT, asking for the game against Dagenham to be one of the televised games. As we have NEVER played Daggers in any competition
Hat trick opportunity here- After years of abysmal cup performances, we win one in paint pot and two in thee League cup, so how about 3 in the FA Cup with a biggie in round 3and 4!
Wimbledon v Coventry or Leyton Orient V Southport sound a lot more attractive, I can't see it being us
You'd think TV coverage would at least go for a non league club v league club in the hope of an upset
i have been told that BT need to pick their games 1st before any team can change dates of when they play. if rovers/city dont get selected which will most likely will be the case, then they will toss of a coin to see who moves the game. hopefully rovers lose the toss and plays at home friday night. better atmosphere on a night game.
I read yesterday (Evil Post link ?) that Rovers had already asked York if they were happy for the date of the tie to be changed ?
Doesn't surprise me. Clubs will both be aware and these things tend to sort themselves out quite amicably- Either way, cant see us getting much more than 5-6,000 for this game, on telly or not.
2 tweets yesterday from official rovers: "We are currently in discussions about what day our FA Cup 1st round tie against York will be played. We hope to know by the end of the day." "The FA have informed the club that the coin toss will not take place until after BT Sport have picked the televised games" nothing else from rovers about this maybe the post is right. maybe they still did a coin toss and rovers lost so they are planning ahead and asking york to move dates presuming neither bristol side will be on tv and just wont confirm this as official until BT has selected their games. most likely reason for me
If we lose the coin toss we will be playing on the Sunday. The club will prefer that over the Friday not fixture because we play Crawley on the Tuesday, so more time for a break.
official tweet from rovers.... Bristol Rovers have lost the FA coin toss and are now in discussions with York City about the first round clash
No way we will be on tv - hopefully our game will be moved because I'm going to a wedding on the Saturday
