They won't get 10,000 with those prices...

Who cares? Why are we wasting our time with the FA Cup? It's only going to drain our energy more. We should put out a practice team against West Brom, let them stretch their legs and if we lose, no big deal. We should focus on the league.

I've just noticed that Northy has added the offish post to the 'It's West Brom' thread. My apologies. Merge please mods?

This season I'm not so sure it will be a waste of time. I think we are going to turn our season around in the next month, so optimistically a Cup run will be a distraction we don't need. BUT IF NOT, winning the FA cup would be the best relegation medicine we could have.

Notice that after West Ham were named preferred bidder for the Olympic Stadium, Gold explicitly said that they want to get fans into the 60,000 venue currently put off by accessibility and affordability of current ground. Pay attention Tone and Phil.

Bad move by the club imo.

Although they have to pay the wages of some of these players somehow I guess! :)

I've been thinking about this. I pay over a grand for STs for me and the boy. But assuming an 8 hour working day 5 days a week (ha! Don't snigger) a grand is 2 hours wages for someone on £20k a week, which I guess is far less than the average wage for our squad. I haven't done the maths, but gate receipts don't scratch the surface of our wage bill.

I have done the maths now. 18,000 seats x 19 games x average £40 a match (generous?) = £13.68 m. Enough for 4 or 5 of the 'star' players salaries?

It's sods law that I'm working both the Saturday and Sunday for this one. I would of still considered retaining my seats for this game, but not at these prices and I can't afford to use up another days leave. A bit of a dilemma for me as I always feel guilty if I don't try to make every effort to get to every home game. I know that if I don't go, come kick-off time I will wish I was there instead of being stuck in the fire station trying to stream it on my phone.

"If I am free"???? You fickle bugger. What might you be doing, ironing your pants?
