I'm pleased to see that Northampton, Oxford, Portsmouth and Wycombe have all survived in the FA Cup. I don't suppose that we would have chosen to go out early but the extra games and the the ballyhoo surrounding them can't do their League form any good can it?

There is no contest unless you languish in the mid table of the premiership where a cup would matter but you are never going to win the league and there is no promotion anyway. We would all take promotion over a cup run. Having said that we would take both if they were possible. The possible financial rewards of a cup run are a godsend to small clubs and can make such a huge difference. Also supporters just love it when it's mixing with the big guns and doing them over.
