We came fourth... please log in to view this image 4: 2014, Arsenal 3-2 Hull Oh, Arsenal. Starved of success for so many years, their silverware-hungry supporters could scarcely believe their luck when Hull City, who finished that season 16th in the Premier League, stumbled their way into a Wembley final. But things didn’t go according to plan, and in true Gooner fashion, Wenger’s boys were 2-0 down within eight stunning first-half minutes. Okay, so a triumphant comeback always looked on the cards, but Arsenal were made to work damn hard for it, with an entertaining game extended into a period of nerve-jangling extra time. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...ranked-and-rated-since-1996/arsenal-3-2-hull/
The Cardiff 0-1 Portsmouth game was one of the worst football matches I've ever been to. And I go to most of ours...

Starved of success for so many years, their silverware-hungry supporters could scarcely believe their luck when Hull City, who finished that season A CREDITABLE 16th in the Premier League, STROLLED THROUGH TO a Wembley final. But things didn’t go according to plan, and in true Gooner fashion, Wenger’s boys were 2-0 down within eight stunning first-half minutes. Okay, so a NERVY EXHAUSTING comeback WAS POSSIBLE, but Arsenal were made to work damn hard for it AND ONLY MANAGED TO GET ON LEVEL TERMS LATE IN THE MATCH. AFTER TRAILING MOST OF THE GAME, THEY FINALLY WENT AHEAD in a period of nerve-jangling extra time, MUCH TO THE RELIEF OF THEIR SMUG AND PASSIONLESS FANBASE, AND SEEMINGLY MOST OF THE MEDIA. Corrected and improved. Pro Arsenal bias removed.
The FA Cup Final I went to 50 years ago this month is rated at 6th in lists of the greatest cup finals of all time. Yorkshire club takes a 2-0 lead and eventually loses the match 3-2. The losing team was Sheffield Wednesday. It was groundhog day when I went to my only other FA Cup Final in 2014!
