Just added this to another thread but thought it deserved it's own... This seasons FA Cup final will kick off precisely 39 years to the day after the last time Sunderland won the FA cup... Hope it's a good omen...

    5th May 2012 3pm... Hopefully a day to remember

need to take it a game at a time and Everton will be extremely difficult

I will be the first time we don't go into a game as favourites (surely we were favourites to beat Arsenal after the form they had been on and esp. after that thrashing in Milan)

Agreed - 1 game at a time ! And if we do get through, there's likely to be an ever tougher game to follow !

    Here's hoping !

To win the best you have to be the best. Everton will be tough, and each round is more difficult than the last. Bring it on!

I was 8 the last time we won anything. In now a 47 year old father of one 7 year old myself, who has seen his club win **** all for the past 38 years of loyal service.

I don't want my daughter to wait 38 years to be able to brag about winning a trophy.

It's not much to ask for is it?

It is a numerologists dream come true.

    39 years...

3+9=12 It's the 12th year of this century.

1+2=3 (I passed my GCSE in mathematics) :)

What is the significance of 3? Well, we have won the FA Cup twice so one more in the year 2012 would round that number up quite nicely!

Also did you know we on exactly the same points this year as we were on at the same stage last year (mid slump).

Not relevant I know but a tadge surprising.

And with the Moon lining up with Jupiter and Saturn, it is a foregone conclusion that we will triumph in May.
Besides, it is also the year of the Dragon which for some reason makes me think of our lass...<whistle>

She would kill me if she knew I wrote that..<laugh>
