Joel was a regular fixture under Martinez during Wigan Athletic's FA Cup success last season and will be deployed between the posts ahead of first-choice goalkeeper Tim Howard. Dutch defender Johnny Heitinga could find himself in the Toffees' starting line-up after rejecting a January move to West Ham United, while Croatian striker Nikica Jelavic too could be given a start against Rangers. However, Everton will be without defenders Phil Jagielka and Sylvain Distin, but Leighton Baines is likely to start at left-back. Meanwhile, QPR boss Harry Redknapp could deploy striker Tom Hitchcock after the 21-year-old returned to Loftus Road from a loan spell at Crewe Alexandra five days earlier than originally scheduled. Benoit Assou-Ekotto could also feature for the Championship outfit after getting permission from his parent club Tottenham Hotspur, while Andy Johnson could start against his former club Everton. However, Tom Carroll, who is also on loan from Spurs, is ineligible to play in the FA Cup for QPR. EXPERIENCED official Howard Webb will take charge of Saturday's FA Cup Third Round fixture against Everton at Goodison Park. This weekend will be the top-flight referee's first time in charge of the R’s. Webb’s last outing in a QPR fixture came last season when QPR won 2-1 against Southampton at St. Mary’s. Webb originally took up officiating in the local leagues of his hometown Rotherham in 1989. In 1993, Webb progressed to the Northern Counties East League as an assistant referee, making the step up to be a fully-fledged referee just a few years later. Webb, a Sergeant with South Yorkshire Police, was appointed as a Football League assistant referee in 1996, before being promoted to the Football Conference as a referee shortly after. In 2000, the 41 year-old was included amongst the National List of Football League referees, stepping up to the Select Group for the Premier League in 2003. One of the most identifiable and most respected officials within the sport, Webb has been appointed to referee some of the world's highest profiled matches, including finals of the FA Cup, UEFA Champions League and the World Cup. Webb was praised for his quick thinking and decisive decision making during Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Bolton Wanderers in March 2012, which subsequently saved the life of midfielder Fabrice Muamba. This season he has overseen 22 matches and issued 71 yellow cards, 2 red cards and 2 penalties. He will be assisted by Michael Mullarkey and Sian Massey, whilst Scott Mathieson is on fourth official duties. please log in to view this image Sian Massey please log in to view this image Everton 2/5 Draw 15/4 QPR 13/2 please log in to view this image QPR FC ‏@OfficialQPR 1m .@OfficialQPR XI: Cesar; Simpson, Onuoha, Hill, Assou-Ekotto, Traore, Phillips, Barton, Henry, O’Neil, Austin. That is how Jamie Mackie got injured against Blackburn. Warnock wanted to leave him out, Mackie pleaded to play.
I guess it puts him in the shop window for better, or worse.......? Time for him to earn that huge salary - hopefully his busted pinky is all mended? The Brazil #1 keeper must be rather rusty though.
Sorry Grif, didn't see your thread there. We're going for it, YES! I love the FA cup. If you don't treat the FA cup seriously then you don't have any right to be in football imo. Danny Simpson ‏@dannysimpson 1h En route to Goodison Park.. Can't wait for the game. Gotta love the FA Cup Well said Danny boy! You R's!!!
Mental team, I hope austin or Barton doesn't get a season ending injury. Why risk Onuoha and philips as well?

Why not? We're in the business to win football matches and compete. And its a great way to find out if this bunch of players have anything to do in the Premier League.
