So its FA Cup 4th Round Weekend and what are we doing again. Sitting round discussing who died 500 years ago and coming up with a never-ending list of players who might end up here just because they will get game time before the Euros. For once we have a full squad available for the weekend having rested all of them for the secret derby fixture, but they have no one to play as all the decent teams are still in the competition. The odds of us winning this Saturday are nil as are the odds of us losing. The odds of us losing at the same stage next year are probably nailed on. Deluded Glory Hunter recommends putting your house on us not losing this weekend but then cashing in at about 310pm as he does every weekend for a net gain of 14p. So what is everybody doing this weekend to try and avoid the pain of knowing we are not involved in the worlds greatest knockout competition yet again? Me I am just about to board a flight to Brisbane for a weeks work in Papua New Guinea. Hopefully they wont be showing it on the TV there.
Flying to Washington DC for a couple of days, then to St Maarten for a week, then back to Washington DC for a couple of days, then back to UK for a stag do in Cornwall. I have absolute faith that when I return, we will be comfortably out of the relegation positions and Messi will be our top scorer on 25 goals.
er, to be fair I suggest laying Newcastle, not backing them, before trading out after the Back Three/Four get themselves in a tangle so that the first goes in before half the stadia have found their seats. I feel like writing to the BBC to complain about their "It's the FA Cup. Anything could happen!" tagline. Because for us it bloody well doesn't. What am I doing? Yesterday I appear to have spent the whole day getting stuck into some code and then today doing the laundry before striking camp and leaving here at Glastonbury to head North to a site in South Yorkshire for a week.
You'd care if we were in a semi or final or won it. I take your point to an extent though. It doesn't have quite the sparkle it had in years gone by.
I love the cups. The FA more than the league cup which to be honest is probably only exciting if you get to a semi. The FA cup still has the romance for me.
