Happy new year everyone, hope you all had a banging Christmas and New Year. Thought I’d kick my match day thread antics off for the year. Kick off is at 5:30 at SJP, no live tv coverage via sky/bt. Squad wise we’re in a bit of a pickle! Ki and Muto are off on cup duty, Diame and Yedlin both came out of last nights game nursing some sort of injury so it remains to be seen whether they are fit or indeed risked. Clark, Lejeune and Fernandez are available again appearantly so Rafa may well ring the changes. Not sure on ref selection as yet. It remains to be seen whether ex smoggie Tony Mowbray selects a certain Jack Rodwell for the game, he may decide to give him the day off to go and play on the teddy pickers at the Metrocentre! I’m going to the game so we’ll probably lose but for the purposes of my match day thread I’ll predict a 2-1 win for the toon.
I find watching us in the fa cup to lower league opposition to hard to handle. I love the fa cup and it kills me to see us do sweet fa to even try and progress in it. The league is basically pointless nowerdays but one thing the club could at least try and do for the fans is give us a day out to Wembley.
Nailed on defeat and it's a good thing because we have no chance of winning a cup anyway. I'd be delighted if we could win a cup or have a cup run because either way I think we're going to be relegated anyway .

Summink like that, just play the kids and give Shelvey ad Lejuerne a work out as they're coming back from injury. Although don't bother with Aarons, he's injured no doubt anyway, give Sorenson a senior debut. Basically let's just give the kids a run out, and get out of this competition at the first opportunity.

Just back from his latest loan spell but Rafa has come out and said Him Lazaar and Elliot are all up for sale this window.

Apparently Sterry is fit and starting apparently, Woodman, Lejuene, Clark and Manquillo all supposedly starting as well so thats the back 5 would imagine, Aarons misses out and Lazzar pushes to LW.
