I know what you mean, though we've had a few interesting ties over the years in fairness. Gillingham away was an, um, experience. Trips to Cambridge & Newport in recent years as well. Grimsby and Lincoln at home. Be good to get a non league side one day though.
Most of those were league cup. Only Grimsby wasn't iirc. Home ties against minnows are a bit meh anyway. I can only ever remember drawing one non league club in my time going and it was Luton who barely qualified.
I don't suppose Swansea are overly excited either but probably see this as a good chance of advancing into the next round. Don't blame them either, any team should fancy their chances against us. The interesting part is that as managers usually pick a weakened team in the cup these days, where on earth is Russell Martin going to find a team any weaker than we already are?
Liverpool v Accrington for me, perhaps the Spurs tie, but those are great too. Best third round draw in a long time, I think
Liverpool Accrington is great too but would be so much better if Accrington were at home. Agree it's the best draw for ages (except us of course - standard). I bet the GMP are pleased about the City Salford tie!
Don't they televise about 6 games now? There's absolutely no chance they don't show the City Salford game given the proximity and the ex United involvement in Salford.
I think we played Swansea several years ago in the FA Cup which was aired by BBC Wales. I remember Valery getting sent off.
That and Tamworth v Spurs. ITV get the Arsenal v Man Utd game. ITV's pundits include Ian Wright and Roy Keane so I'll be staggered if they don't get that game.
