Town are ball number 20 in the 3rd round draw tonight live on BBC2. I can imagine that not too many of us will be overly excited by the FA Cup given our abysmal record over the last few years and the Lincoln nightmare last season! Who would you like us to draw? Brighton away would be nice for me!
For the sakes of a reunion with a few old uni mates, drawing Mansfield Town home or away would be nice. But as you say Warky, Mick views cup games as a diversion to the Championship, so whoever we draw won't be up against our strongest side. Would be good to see a few youngsters and fringe players have minutes on the pitch in a competitive match, but I do despair at the lack of a cup run recently. Remember when we made the semi finals of the League Cup during the Keane/Jewell years?
To not win one FA cup match in 7 seasons, is an absolute disgrace. If we have a team from the lower division (or either the championship) Mick should put out his strongest XI, purely after last seasons debacle, and to put some pride back into our team. In saying that, we'll probably get a lower end prem team so Mick will completely change the first XI. Who would i like....Forest Green/Exeter or Fleetwood/Hereford at home. We might get to win an FA cup game then LOL
Blades home then. Ironically, last time we played them was my first ever towen game in the 4-3 loss at their patch....
Too many games in a short space of time for Mick to take this game seriously. Too many fixtures around the FA Cup 3rd round force managers into some strange decisions. I blame the scheduling a little bit for the lack of interest in the 3rd round by some clubs who make league position priority.
£10 tickets, well done clubs for agreeing that. Wonder how many the Blades will bring? Loads of the ground shut, deary me not expecting a big gate! We have NO midweek game after the cup tie, Fulham the Tuesday before so I would expect a semi decent side from us. Certainly don't see the entire 11 being changed, a few will get a go. Perhaps Kiefer Moore time - interesting to see what side the Blades put out also. Could we finally win an fa cup game under Mick?!
He is cup tied, having played in the 1st round for Rotherham.. Depending on injuries I would expect the likes of Smith, Kenlock, Nydam and Bishop to get a game and possibly Morris and Folami (and hopefully Rowe) on the bench
Yeah rotate around somewhat - IF ( and it's looking unlikely ) but IF we're going to do anything this season, I'd say we need 7/12 from our next 4. 3 home games, Wolves away then rotate vs T'Blades....
