The FA Cup got underway last night with seven ties in the Extra Preliminary Round.

Which team are you selecting for your road to Wembley?

Camberley is local to me and also my sister lives there, and United Services Portsmouth has such an interesting and unique name, so I think you should pick one of those two!

AFC Portchester were managed by ex-Chelsea great, and Pompey coach, Graham Rix.

Ex-Pompey winger Jack Maloney plays for Horndean, and is the older brother of Pompey's talented academy forward Leon.

I stopped midway last season as the thread was getting no response.

If I'm going to give it a go again, then, as I BINNED it last year, I'll have to go with BINfield v United Services Portsmouth <laugh>

Binfield play in the Hellenic League Premier Division (level 9), in which they finished 9th (out of 19) last season.
United Services are in the Wessex League Division One (level 10) in which they finished 5th (out of 19) last term.

When we reach the First Round proper I'll add a second 'road' following Pompey's route (called the Jim Bowen This is what you could have won road)<whistle>

Horndean and Fareham are through, Portchester have a replay. By the way, if Portchester win their replay they will be at home to Horndean in the Preliminary Round!

But in the official game it ended Binfield Utd 3-2 United Services Portsmouth.

So 'Dusty' Bin field are through to the Preliminary Round where they will be at home to Lymington Town on Saturday 24th August.

Lymington are in the Wessex League Premier Division, so are at the same level (9) on the pyramid as Binfield

A sleeping giant if ever there is one.

The first time I ever saw a live game was Fareham v Hendon in what was then the FA Amateur Cup. I think Fareham won 1-0 and in the ranks was one Ray Hiron!!! It was around 63/64, I think.

They've been sleeping for a very long time, apparently.

The thing I like about Fareham is once you get there on a train after a match, everyone gets off so the train is nice and quiet afterwards.

The last time I saw Fareham Town play must have been back in the early 1980's, when they were managed by Ray Crawford after he had left Pompey where he was coaching the youth squad.

When he left Fratton Park, a lot of the Pompey youth team followed him to Fareham and formed the nucleus of the first team. I hadn't long moved to the Isle of Wight with my job, and went to see them play at Brading, Cowes and Newport who were all in the same league at the time. Ray put together a young but talented team, and it was a joy to see them play.

The Moles? What an odd name....

Of course, the mighty Farnborough join at this stage of the competition... Can we make the first round proper for the first time since we reformed?

    I'm not counting on it.

The result from Saturday's First Qualifying Round was a resounding 5-0 win for the home side

    Harrow Borough 5-0 BINFIELD

So Harrow carry the baton into the 2nd qualifying round.

HARROW BOROUGH have been drawn at home to Carshalton Athletic.

The Robins are in the Isthmian Premier League, so are at the same level as The Boro.

Meanwhile, for the 2nd Qualifying Round, we start Branch Two, with this road stating at Westleigh park.

HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE are at home to Taunton Town.
The Peacocks are in the Southern League Premier Division South; a level below The Hawks

If you're not travelling to Wycombe on Saturday, just a reminder that Havant & Waterlooville are in FA Cup action at Westleigh Park, where they will be entertaining Taunton Town in the 2nd Qualifying Round.

Tickets £12 for adults, £10 cons and £3 for under 12s.

Pompey's young 6' 8" centre half Matt Casey is likely to make his Hawk's debut in this match Dev, as he has just joined them on loan.

    HARROW BOROUGH 0-1 Carshalton Athletic

So CARSHALTON are through to the Third Qualifying Round and have been drawn away to Lowestoft Town
The Trawler Boys play in the Southern League Premier Division Central, meaning both sides are at the same level in the pyramid. They have reached the First Round Proper on six occasions; the most recent being 2009-10.

HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE 2-1 Taunton Town

THE HAWKS have been drawn at home to Hadley in the Third Qualifying Round
The Bricks are in the Essex Senior League, which, at Level 9, is three divisions lower than the hosts.
Their cup run started on 11th August with a 4-2 home win over Redbridge in the Extra Preliminary Round.
This cup run equals their best, having previously reached this round three seasons ago.

Ties to be played on 5th October.

The winners of these games will be one more win away from the First round Proper and will be joined by the National League sides for the Fourth Qualifying Round.

    HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE 3-0 Hadley
