Hey. I'm 16 and from Birmingham and I am interested in coaching football. I would like some helpful advice on what I would need to do to etc. I have some questions which I need answered and I would really appreciate any help. 1) How long are the following courses, how much do they cost, and where can I get more information on them?: FA coaching Level 1,2,3, UEFA 'B', UEFA 'A', UEFA Pro. 2) What requirments are needed to enter the FA coaching Level 1 course? 3) What types of jobs can I expect at each level? 4) What type of help can I get when trying to gain experience? (Volountary jobs) 5) What types of things will I need to do in between each course. E.g. Experience, other courses? 6) What level of coaching can I expect to begin coaching full time? (Earn enough money to have a decent living) 7) What age do people usually begin coaching without prior experience? (Without being footballers etc.) 8) Any extra advice, tips, suggestions or information you can offer: All sensible replies will be greatly appreciated. If I have posted this in the wrong section, can a moderator please move this to the correct section rather than closing the thread please. Thanks in advance
I did but it doesn't give enough information. -- Thanks for the off topic replies, and I ain't trying to be Villa-Boas, I want to become a full-time coach, its just coincidence that someone who happened to never play football at a proffesional level managed to get all the coaching badges and broke records just this year. Edit - Anyone know where I can post this to get any decent replies?
Send a pm to cyprussydsafc. If he can, he'll make it a sticky somewhere, or even a global thread. I'm a bit busy to do it myself or I would. Love,Mick x
well I stuck it and will leave it today but TBH I think this may be the best you will get in the way of assistance, good luck.
Join a local kids footy club and offer to help out a team or in the hut etc. You will soon get snapped up if your as keen on a cold Feb morning as you appear now. They will pay for your coaching badges and police check if you bring a kids team through. Tbh this is not the correct forum as half of the replies above prove - good luck and remember me if you hit the big time!
Thanks for the sensible reply, really appreciate it. I don't even know where the local footy team is, its kind of all over the place and its hard to find out exactly who sorts the stuff out. Recently I managed to find some information on a West Bromwich Albion course which I might take up. The lack of clear presentation on the Birmingham FA courses website is just embarrasing. Edit - I will remember you!
http://www.birminghamfa.com/Development/Courses/ Seems to have a pretty comprehensive description of most courses there. I'd suggest giving them a ring directly and asking if there's anyone there who can talk you through it all, most regional FAs will do this.
