So this may be a bit early but as Ross and co have launched a new 2022 mock up car: Sorry you have to click through to youtube. Seems like they have left out lots of techy details for us to view plus why make the new 18" wheels out of black carbon so they blend in with the tyres? Surely the whole point of bigger wheels is to show more relevance to road cars, but with black rims and a smaller silver trim they just look like the old wheels! I was hoping that with the 'launch' of the mock up this weekend we could see more radical things but looks like not enough changes. Anyway hopefully it will mean close racing - just like we have this year!!!!!!
Danny doesn't like it. https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/ricciardo-clarifies-****-f1-2022-launch-car-remarks/6630811/
Just wondering about designing of next years cars. If George is in a Merc surely they will have had to design the cockpit so he fits? He must be one of the tallest drivers on the grid plus he seems to have large feet as well. Surely the cockpit will be a bit of a compromise to be able to fit George as opposed to say Bottas? I do hope George gets the Merc seat and Bottas stays in F1 as he is a decent driver, OK so not the best but he is good.
The stars are aligning. Apparently Alfa Romeo are interested in Bottas next year. Things falling into place? Does mean Kimi would get the boot though. https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/b...or-2022-if-mercedes-opts-for-russell/6635523/
Bottas may as well walk if he's choosing them over Williams . I expected him to walk away from F1 , but he has said he wants to stay in F1 . Alfa are Sauber , good team . I think Capito is turning the ship around at Williams and I feel he should go back there .
I wonder if Bottas to Williams plus some extra help from Merc might be a great deal for both. Bottas could be great for them with all his experience and Merc knowledge.
All the years spent making it to F1...walking away would be tough. It's the end of the journey at that point. Not sure that would be an easy thing to do.
He has said he wants to stay , I think he should go back to Williams but perhaps he fancies a new challenge ?
Maybe Williams... I'm suffering a bit of guilt for being so negative about him.. I just want him to fight for it. When you sit back and reflect, you realize that this is the biggest dream for these and so many other drivers. So I hope he puts up a fight. It's so easy to forget these guys are human, just like the rest of us.
