Oops . Hulkenburg shouldn't be too disappointed right now - at least Force India can afford to go to Bahrain and test. Lotus are presumably still waiting for Ijaz's money.
I think the Lotus thing is sorted now, they're just waiting for some Nigerian Prince to send the cheque through
Im a bit confused now? Who is wanting the Weight increase and who is not? Sounds like its the works teams that don't and the customers who do
Depends which team you support. Your chosen team is miles under weight whilst all others are overweight. I think the weight increase has been officially blocked now, it went a bit under the radar with the silly double points rule.
It's difficult to understand who is vetoing based on the issue itself, or to merely piss off a competitor?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/25324100 Respect Seb Though i'm afraid to this reversed we'd need some people to come out against it who the rules weren't designed to stop.
If anyone wants a laugh, try going on Joe Saward's blog and read his responses to some of the anti "double points" comments. He has an amazing ability to stubbornly refuse to recognise why the masses think this is a bad idea despite repeated examples provided by people in the comments.
Going back to this ridiculous double points proposal, if it had been in place this season Vettel still would've clinched the championship in India with three races to spare, it would've changed nothing. And going into the final race he was 145 points clear, so it would had to have been a 150 point race to keep the championship alive, and even then Vettel would only need a 10th place finish to secure the title. And they may have kept the final race alive, but the races before it would've been undermined completely because the points on offer would've been trivial. Unbelievably stupid idea, how can such morons find themselves in positions of such power? Also, Ferrari would've beaten Mercedes to second in the constructors had it been in place.
Rumour has it that Ferrari and Mercedes wanted this double points ****e and blocked any attempts to change it. Not being funny but RBR need to be the team with the veto of any stupid rule changing that will **** over the brand as it's clear Ferrari are out of touch with REALITY!
Looks like Lotus are in real trouble, they want the Jerez test to be delayed. http://adamcooperf1.com/2013/12/10/teams-consider-postponing-jerez-test/
In an attempt to prevent further dominance by Vettel and RBR, the FIA have announced that points in the 2014 season will now be allocated by the drawing of lots. Finishing position will now simply determine the drawing order rather than earning points for the driver and team. Lots will be drawn in a live, 30-minute special hosted by Anthea Turner and Eamonn Holmes. The F-Lotto draw will also feature a selection of naff musical/variety interludes and draw predictions by Mystic Mosley.
The comment left on the site is probably very true. RBR, Ferrari & Mercedes are probably okay, but those teams who are just customer teams would have had to wait longer for their 'powertrains' to be delivered so may be struggling to sort out the installation and packaging of these very new units.
Like I asked in a previous post. The customer teams are all wanting a weight limit increase. I wonder how much they actually know about and understand of the new engines. Are they using 2013 cars? maybe they don't have time to adapt a 2013 car for it.
On the double points issue. If I was caterham I would build an average car that will bobble along through the season then come Abu Dhabi produce an awesome car that came 1st and 2nd and take 6th in the constructors championship!
Sauber or Bust for Di Resta. But he wont bring any money so I cant see any chance of him getting that seat. Also confirms Perez is his likely replacement. http://richlandf1.com/?p=17370
