Did the manager have temporary blindness at St.Andrews last week? Who was the worst player on the pitch by a country mile? Answer: the same player he started in midfield today! Slow in tempo, powder puff in the tackle he yet again set the tempo for an inept performance. Take him off and the game changes. Never ever, ever play that c**t again. What on earth must Cory Evans be thinking? Voted MOTM two games running only to be dropped in favour of that useless twat. Perhaps a tactical reason at Brum, with Zigic on the pitch, but today???? Rant over!
Have to agree. Also, Meyler didn't look any great shakes today and I think Evans is the best we have for that DM role.
I was amazed that Oli was in the starting XI today, after last weeks performance, it was a very strange decision.
Olofinjana was poor today, but I can see what Bruce was thinking as Olofinjana is a far better player than Evans, who's only had two above average games since he's been here. Centre Midfield remains our biggest problem, as it has done for about two years now.
Oli was poor at Birmingham last week, can't believe he played today. On recent performances, Evans should be in there. At the moment I feel Evans is our best player in the centre of midfield, though it is an area we need to add to in January.
Evans was excellent in his last game, I can't really see why he was dropped, we've looked far worse without him.
No he's not, he's a big ****in' pansy. Evans had a belter against Barnsley and then got dropped. I don't agree with the rant at Bruce, but i do agree Olofinjana needs to be dropped for Evans and preferably given the boot at City.
I queried this just before Kick Off when I saw the teams. I've never been impressed by Oli and would much rather have seen Evans or even McKenna start. And true to my fears he was dreadful with almost every pass misplaced. Though having said that Meyler was nothing brilliant and Koren and Elmo both had off days.
Bollox. Evans or McKenna are much harder, tackling players, Olofinjana isn't a bad player but he isn't what we need in the middle, he wants time to play pretty passes and we need an enforcer
I just think Burnley worked way harder than us today. I thought Meyler looked pointless when he came on, my mate thought he looked class. Who's to say?
Well it's initially a month, but based on the Sunderland fans' reviews I was rather hoping he would make the position his own and end up getting the loan extended.
I don't really get all the negativity surrounding Meyler, I thought he looked alright today, perhaps not a stand out performer, but he was tidy and good on the ball. He let a few passes go past him but pretty much everybody was guilty of that today. He's a damn sight better than Oli, but I'd still have Evans in that DM role.
