Spare a thought today for some of the local teams in the preliminary round of the F A Cup. Swaffham host Huntingdon, Wroxham away to Peterborough Northern Star, an all-local Gorleston v Thetford, and Dereham Town (the real Magpies!) away to Boston Town. Good lucks guys, Wembley beckons!
Swaffham lost, Thetford lost, but then of course, that meant Gorleston won, so they're through to the next round with Wroxham and Dereham who both also won. Clearly no-one gives a **** about local football these days, which is sad, but well done to all involved on their big day anyway. Local football is VERY important. The F.A. Cup is something of a sideshow but good for the roots nonetheless
